home sharing not activated error 5599

cant login/activate home sharing. get this error message:
Home Sharing could not be activated because an error occurred(5599)
home sharing worked last time I logged in.

macpro, Mac OS X (10.6.6)

tskarzin's was the first response that made sense to me!

Here's what I did...

two apple ids… normal_apple_id@example.com and household@example.com

iTunes > Account > Sign In > normal_apple_id@example.com

iTunes > Account > Authorizations > Authorize this computer > normal_apple_id@example.com

iTunes > Account > Authorizations > Authorize this computer > household@example.com

iTunes > File > Home Sharing > Turn On Home Sharing > household@example.com
The above worked for me, since BOTH accounts must have the computer authorized.

Also, if you're using two-factor on the account and a very old iTunes, you must concatenate the two factor code onto the password as you enter...

***FIXED MY ERROR***


Hello,


I was getting the same error and then "Authorized" my computer in iTunes and then the error went away.


To Authorize PC...

1.) Open iTunes

2.) Hover or click "Account"

3.) Click "Authorizations" then click "Authorize This Computer..."

4.) After successfuly doing that, I was able to share my media libraries on my Apple TV.
