MacBook Air freeze launching iTunes

Just managed this 3 times in 5 minutes. First time was coming out of sleep, immediately clicked iTunes, second and third times was launching iTunes after boot. All 3 times the store window appeared, the loading bar went across the top of the window and then it froze. No cursor, closing the lid did not shut down the screen and I had to hold the power button to reboot.

I've only had the machine a day, but I'm not very happy. I did just update to 10.6.7. Is anyone else experiencing this? Should I be concerned?

This is indeed great news for all owners of the MBA. My method of downloading iTunes again went very smoothly for 48 hours until this morning when my MBA froze again. I hope this patch works once and for all.

Recently converted from PC to Mac, now have the same issue, itunes hard freezes the machine.So much for all the blah blah about apples don't crash,closed environment. It's apple code thats crashes the whole machine. Pretty serious issue. Does Apple ever acknowledge these posts?

yes, apple acknowledges it as they fixed it just yesterday - they addressed the issue in about a week.

So far, very clearly, Wi-fi related. Turned off wi-fi, plugged in my belkin GB USB adapter, itunes is happily updating my brand new used iphone 3gs.

So the first thing I would try is to turn off wifi (Airport).

Apple has posted a fix for this.

This patch fixes the issue. I installed on mine and it works fine now.
