Orange Discoloration from Bottom-Left corner of MBP Screen

So this computer is relatively new (I bought it in September) and a few days ago I started noticing a slight discoloration in the bottom-left corner of the screen. It has slowly gotten a little bit bigger, but it is only a slight discoloration. It is very noticeable when the brightness is turned all the way up and on a white background, but is less visible with other colors (though it is still there). It usually gets worse when the charger is plugged in and the computer gets warmer (the led screen stays cool) and gets better if the computer hasn't done anything in awhile or if it's not charging. The discoloration doesn't show up on screenshots, but I am POSITIVE I'm not just making it up. Is this likely a software or a hardware issue, and would it qualify under Apple's warranty (I can't find anywhere why it wouldn't)?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jonathan

I seem to have this problem as well. Bought a used computer, and the owner warned me about what they claimed to be a 'small issue', which I wasn't even supposed to notice. When we checked the laptop together, the discoloration was not visible. Now, however, it is getting annoying, so I might have to replace the screen and/or the logic board. What might the repair costs be if the laptop is no longer covered under AppleCare/warranty? The owner gave me an extra discount due to the discoloration problem, but it's not even close to the amounts mentioned in this thread, obviously.

Thank you, Mike and Steven, this seems to be the cost mentioned on some other pages as well.

I find it incredibly annoying, so I will just try and get it fixed later, when I can afford it. Otherwise, it's a very powerful customized machine, and I'd like to keep it for a while until I can buy a brand new one.

One last question though - I know this depends on a lot of factors, but how long did the replacement take?

My repair cost about $450 each time. I realized after reading that others cost $300 that mine was probably more because I have the anti-glare screen. Since the anti-glare cost me $150 more than the standard when I purchased it, I'd assume the same $150 difference in replacement.

So that means that if you have the regular screen it's probably going to be $300, if you have the high-res glossy display $400, and if you have the hi-res matte $450.

Maybe Mike and Steven can provide their experience if this happened, but I had the same problem again after replacing the screen, so I might be careful putting money into something that will happen again, but it depends on how bad your discoloration is.

It took me about 3 business days each time to get it back, but they said they would have had it in 24 hours but didn't have the anti-glare clamshell in stock.
