Can't remove items from sidebar

Since I updated to 10.6.7, when I try to take a folder or file off the sidebar that I've put on there (either before or after the update), it won't go. It used to disappear in a puff of smoke; now it just pops back to where it was on the sidebar. Is that a bug in 10.6.7?

A lot of my sidebar items got stuck when IT moved us to a new, shared server, thus we lost the old paths. I couldn't even click on them or right-click them! The only way I could get them to go away permanently was to hold the command key down while moving them, and I only figured that out today by finding this thread!

Thanks everyone!

This works well, BUT be aware it deletes ALL the things you may have set up in sidebar, so best to take a note BEFORE you delete "com.apple.sidebarlists.plist" so you can set it up again the way you like.

It would be nice if there was a way just to delete the one "dead" object, but Barney is a star for showing how to at least clean things up.
