When will this Mail bug be fixed! - Enough already!

Whenever I send an email with an attachment, and later trash that attachemnt, I have to close mail in order to do so? This has been a bug for SOOOOOO long now.

Example: Attach a png file to an email. Send it. Move the attachment to the trash. Now try to empty the trash ..... No Go! You have to close mail in order for the trash to be emptied.

This needs to be fixed. It is so annoying!!

Hi, I'm a Mail plug-in developer and I've been encountering the problem for quite some time. I've just filed a bug report to Apple (rdar://9194336, see Open Radar for details how to reproduce etc.). If any of you have developer account, you can file a duplicate report to speed things up a bit:).

After sending an attachment, during the time where you can't delete an attachment.

The bug has been marked as duplicate by Apple (duplicate report ID: 5876218), so they know about the problem (probably for quite some time).

I only have IMAP accounts and this also happens.

The problem is with mail signatures. I know it make no sense, but if you delete all of your mail signatures, then you can empty the trash of those sent and want-to trash attachments.

I second, or third, whatever, this comment. This bug has been ignored far too long! And it is not just screen capture files, but any attachnment.
