Apple TV 2G "An error occurred loading this content. Try again Later"

"An error occurred loading this content. Try again Later"

I get this message when trying to stream/load some movies, not all. I could stream YOGI BEAR in HD for my kids no problem. I could stream Jacka *3 HD no prob. I can also watch trailers. But I try The Fighter and Hereafter, and get the message all the time. I am afraid to purchase anything else coz I dont know if it will work. I tried rebooting, restoring and software update, but nothing helps. Please help anyone???!!

I get the same response and I rented two different movies 1st thinking that the Kings Speech was just over sold. So Rented and paid for a second movie. So I tried something else I and get the same error message and I have been trying to get the movie to download.

I have been at this for about three hours.

"An error occurred loading this content. Try again later."

Not good!

How about fixing this Apple?

My ATV2 works again!

Here is what I did. I took it to the Apple Store / Genius Bar. He advised me that the restore on the Apple TV2 is not the same as a restore if connected directly to the Mac/iTunes. He reloaded it through the USB connection. We tested it at the Apple Store and it was playing content again.

I took it home and plugged it in and - same error message. How can this be!😠

I do have two ATV2 in my home (one upstairs and one downstairs). The ATV2 downstairs was working fine.

Now get this - when I swapped ATV2 - meaning plugged the "downstairs ATV2" into the upstairs cable-hookup and the "upstairs ATV2" into the downstairs cable-hookup they both worked fine. How do you make sense of that?!?!?

It worked at the Apple Store and it works downstairs but not upstairs. Yet my other ATV2 works in both locations. Very Strange. The only thing that is different is the HDMI cable - different brand at each location. But why would my other ATV2 work in either place?

Have I confused you all???

Anyway for the moment both my ATV2s are working again but fear the day of another dreaded error message.

I have the update 4.2.2 and the problem still persists. I have two rental films that won't download and display the message 'An error occurred loading this content. Try again later'. I have reset ATV2 but nothing seems to work. I have been charged for these also and cannot view them so i'm not too impressed currently................JTB

Thanks for the reply, yes I have tried all the options on the hdmi output settings and still it doesn't work. Its definitely something to do with the HD films as I also downloaded a 1960's film the Ipcress file and that was fine.

Anybody else got any success stories to tell for this issue..........? If so please share them, thanks. JTB

Further to my previous reply, I have confirmed the issue with downloading and the 'An error occurred loading this content. Try again later' message is specific to HD rental films. I have changed the option in the 'Settings, Generai, iTunes Store, Rent High Definition' option to 'off' and this then only downloads 'Standard' definition versions of HD films but these download ok, ie.no error message.

So Apple please address this issue with HD films as soon as possible..............and i'll be expecting a refund of the two HD definition films I have paid for but cannot download. Also I have to watch everything in Standard Definition until this is fixed.

OliverSL can you help with long term resolution of this issue?
