Can't delete Finder sidebar folder

I edited the "com.apple.sidebar.plist" before I kept reading to just press command. Worked like a charm. Has been driving me crazy!

Hey thanks!! Managed to get rid of it. Anyone know why it happened in the first place? anyway, thanks , so good to see it removed.

To go further with this thread, FYI you can do a similar thing with the menu bar items near the time and date. Hold Command down first, select one, and you can drag it off with a poof. Add them back from the System Prefs pane that has the option of showing in the menu bar. I don't think this works every time for 3rd party apps that put an icon in the menu bar.

And of course you can also drag items off the Dock with a poof with no modifier keys.
