Trusteer's Rapport Software

Correct, about Trusteer, but now you also have free advice about removing CleanMyMac.

Free advice that doesn't apply to me, much like what we get from the media and the current Executive branch.

Hold on: the CMM software should be removed ! Like Trusteer should be removed ! If you don't like free advice, just pay me and get that s--t out. 😁

So the file locations are:-

~/Library/Application Support/Rapport/

/Library/Rapport/

/var/root/Library/Application Support/Rapport/

/Library/PreferencePanes/RapportPreferences.prefPane

/var/log/rooksd/

I would check on the site of Thomas Reed: see a few post earlier. Because there are more locations.

Actually, I know nothing about uninstalling Rapport. I've never located a Rapport demo, and since it's not malware or adware, I haven't tried to uncover precise removal instructions.

I did not overestimate you Thomas: but there ARE more. Your site is indispensable, even if there are no instructions there to remove Rapport. On the other hand there are enough threads here where removal is discussed. Thank you for your attention. I love it knowing you will scan a lot of threads here. I learn from it. Lex

We know there are more, I guess that the recent post was intended to address logs & other files not dealt with by the uninstall instructions; although those will normally remove the prefpane & main /Library/Rapport folder in any case.

Best advice on removing Rapport is....

...never install it in the first place !

I've had all sorts of problem with Safari freezing, my mac beach ball appearing more and more. Today I found the culprit. Rapport. Uninstalled and now I am happy bunny again. It was driving my absolutely wild eating all my CPU.

After installing had Sleep/Wake issues on Macbook Pro and Safari browser hangs, Apple looked at the captured crash logs and recommended to uninstall. Have done this and Macbook running like new, Avoid!!!!!!!

Just uninstalled Rapport after reading this thread. My mac runs like he was 5 years younger.

IBMs website with uninstall instructions is out already, as they don't want to make it easier for users to uninstall it.

It didn't took much for IBM to shut down the uninstall page their tech support had just uploaded...

My bank has this posted on their website where they suggest using Trusteer's Rapport Software;
