2011 Macbook Pro Fan noise?

Hi, I have a brand new 2011 Macbook Pro and I was wondering about the fan and the constant noise it generates. It's not very loud but it's constant and something I didn't notice on my old Macbook Pro. Could this be normal or have something to do with the unibody, because it's kind of bugging the **** out of me.

Thanks!

Macbook Pro (Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.6.7), 2.2 GHz Intel Core i7, 6 GM 1333 MHz DDr3

I'm not having the exact same issue, but it's similar. The fans will kick in, in a very high RPM rate and it's very loud. However, this subsides. I don't think that if it's on all the time, that's it's normal. I am only using my computer right now for basic computing and it still kicks in. I don't want to even think about what would happen if I played a game on it. I wouldn't be able to hear the audio of the game!

With my MBP 17" i5 Mid 2010 the problems started after installing OSX Lion, and got worse after installing Mountain Lion. With Snow Leopard there was almost no fan noise and now it starts flying to 6000rpm without doing anything substantially.

- Installed Samsung SSD

- Resetted PRAM/SMC

- Repaired permissions

Since it's age it 37 months, there is no hope for me to get any support from Apple. I tryed before, but why should you deliver any extra support for an stupid 2600 euro notebook if your company's net value is more than an African country.

I started having fan noise on my 2011 MBP. It didn't make sense - until I took the back plate off. The entire inside was covered in a thick layer of dust. I keep my MBP elevated for good air flow but that gives the perfect opportunity (with the elevation) to suck all kinds of micro dust particles right into the air inlets and it blocks the air flow.

Apple Store did a nice clean up job for me. Its an obvious fix, but one worth chekcing out if you're perplexed. Once I got the dust out, the fan didn't tend to "go crazy" like many other people have noticed.

Hi, I have fan problem with my Macbook Pro 2009. Sometimes graphic card fan will kick in to full 6200 rpm. I use MacsFanControl for controlling fan speed and when this happens, graphic fan rpm in program is just 0. After few seconds it gets to normal and current rpm is again shown in MacsFanControl. I tried to reset SMC and it was fine for while but problem returned after some time. Could you please help me find more permanent solution?

Please start a new thread. With the recent forum changes, tagging on to a thread that started three years ago is almost like posting a placard in a hole at the bottom of a abandoned coal mine!

Be sure to include and much tech info about your MBP as possible when you make your new thread: screen size; processor information:RAM installed;Mac OSX version, etc.
