When is iOS 4.3.x coming to Verizon iPhone 4 (CDMA model)

just wondering when Verizon iPhone users will be getting iOS 4.3.x features since you are leaving those users out of the picture of a faster safari and other features that are built into iOS 4.3.x it seems just a bit unfair not only are you as apple promoting more of the AT&T (GSM model) with commercials but also giving better support to the GSM models and leaving out the CDMA users

I'm a Verizon customer (& long-time Mac user), and jumped on the band wagon for the iphone as soon as it was released. All in all, I'm pleased. However, I too did not realize that the ios 4.3 update was not available for Verizon users. I've been going around in circles for weeks on this thing, and finally I found the answer. What's really sad though, I finally contacted Verizon tonight and they didn't tell me thisUser uploaded file I even spoke with their tech support, who sent me on a wild goose chase. Anyway, that aside - seems a software update wouldn't be specific to what provider you have. I too just purchased an app that will only work with 4.3. At least now I have the scoop. Thanks to those in this discussion thread who clarified that.

I just downloaded and installed the version 4.2.7 update for Verizon iPhone. There are no new features for Verizon users (no home share, it appears that Safari is the same as it was in 4.2.6). Other than some possible security fixes, I have no idea what this update does for Verizon users.

I've seen it commented on here several times that "we'll know when we know..." with respect to 4.3 feature availability on the Verizon iPhone. That's a bit of a cop-out. It's certainly not an acceptable customer service stance in my opinion and I certainly hope that it's not Apple's view of things (though I'm starting to lose hope that it isn't). Even the support reps at Apple think it's unacceptable to have to tell a customer...."we just don't know". Let's use some common sense, folks.

No. It is the way it is. No one here has any way of knowing anything. How would they?

This is not customer service. This is a user to user forum. Apple is not answering questions here.

That is the Apple stance whether it is in regard to new versions of the iOS, updates of OS X, new hardware, etc. The only time any kind of date is known is when a major new version, say iOS 5.0 is going to be released, there is usually a keynote address at WWDC, or a meeting to announce it.

Apple has never announced dates for OS patches. If this is unacceptable to you then I would suggest you vote with your wallet and go with a company that announces a schedule for their smartphone OS updates. This rules out Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Mobile, not sure about Symbian.

"It is the way it is"? Really? What motivates someone to make such a useless comment, I wonder. I recognize that this is not Customer Service and my post suggested nothing of the sort. And I certainly don't expect Apple to answer questions in a user forum. What gave you the impression that that is what I was looking for? I'm simply expressing my opinion on the matter just like everyone else here. That's what user forums are about.

Calm down. It is indeed the way it is.

No. Not really. From the terms of use of this forum:

" do not add Submissions about nontechnical topics, including:
Speculations or rumors about unannounced products.
Discussions of Apple policies or procedures or speculation on Apple decisions."

That too, is the way it is.

Gee...I guess I'll give up now. I've offended the Apple Forum gods.

Truly...I'll find somewhere else to express my opinions. Clearly no one here is interested in hearing anything remotely derogatory about Apple or its product support policies and any further efforts to do so I my part would simply be a waste of my time. Have fun playing forum police! Talk to you kids later.

LOL, I noticed you ignored both of my posts.

You might want to try MacRumors, iLounge, enGadget forums but just as a warning most everyone in an Apple related forum are going to be familiar with Apple's policies about updates and you won't get much of a discussion going. I have also been informed since posting to you that Symbian updates also aren't published in advance so I can't give you any recommendations on a smartphone to buy that would meet your terms of Customer Service.
