When is iOS 4.3.x coming to Verizon iPhone 4 (CDMA model)
just wondering when Verizon iPhone users will be getting iOS 4.3.x features since you are leaving those users out of the picture of a faster safari and other features that are built into iOS 4.3.x it seems just a bit unfair not only are you as apple promoting more of the AT&T (GSM model) with commercials but also giving better support to the GSM models and leaving out the CDMA users
Why shouldn't us poor Verizon iphone users expect equal treatment from Apple? Last time I checked I bought an iPhone... well unless I've got an HTC phone disguised as one.
Bottom line. The Verizon iPhone is being treated just like the original iPad. It didn't get iOS 4 until 5 months after iOS 4 was released. It did receive security updates to iOS 3.2 until it FINALLY... got iOS 4.2. So obviously the software build that Verizon has is being nursed along until it's put out of it's misery when the 'builds' merge of which will happen sometime during the iOS 5 release (and hopefully when it is initially released). This is the most likely scenario.
So I'm happy that at least we got something. Even though it's just a handful of security fixes, it proves that we haven't been forgotten. AND... Hopefully we won't always be staring at the backside of AT&T. In the meantime as I wait patiently to be on par with AT&T, I sort of try to put it out of my mind and keep telling myself it's a real iphone, it's a real iPhone... 😉
Yeah sorry, I looked online for what iOS 4.2.7 had for the iPhone 4 (CDMA model) but it only fixes the same problems that iOS 4.3.2 does. No new features what's so ever. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple waits until it's WWDC where they'll reveal iOS 5 and finally bring the features that the iPhone 4 from verizon is lacking.
Officially security fixes only (as stated on Apple's site). Nothing official that the bug fixes addressed in iOS 4.3.2 were addressed on the Verizon iPhone with iOS 4.2.7. I did read one site that indicated that it fixed bugs as well, but this is likely an error on that writer's part. Here's the official fix list as stated by Apple...
To be honest, At first, I didn't mind the delay for Verizon users but it's been well past a month now and still we have no 4.3 . Didn't apple know they would be releasing a cdma iphone months if not more ahead of the launch? Did they not know they would be releasing iOS 4.3 as well? Then why not make everyone's life easier and release the same software update for both networks?
Is this a cdma issue? maybe but 4.2.5 - 4.2.7 were released, so I don't understand why not throw in the nitro for safari and the home sharing with 4.2.7? and why not just call it 4.3.2? All indications point to a separation in software and release dates between cdma and gsm.
Will this be true for the future iOS 5? If so, I don't want to be part of the cmda waiting game. Unless VZW and apple are working on an LTE technology iphone for the next refresh... hmmmm.. wonders, wonders, wonders. That's the beauty of this company, they always have us on our heels.
