10.6.7 upgrade and bluetooth keyboard/Magic trackpad

Since doing the upgrade to 10.6.7 i have issues with bluetooth keyboards/trackpads not being seen by the Mac Mini i own. I must fiddle around with the mouse and keyboard and EVENTUALLY it will be seen. This happens on boot every time. Once it is discovered, all works fine until the next boot.

I have deleted and added the devices to the bluetooth configuration, reset the sram, cleaned permissions, etc. Nothing has helped.

Any pointers to resolving this issue once and for all would be appreciated.

thanks

I have been having a similar problem since 10.6.7, my mouse lags when moving, and the keyboard acts as if a key is stuck down. So I took the machine down to Apple for them to take a look at, they said its not a hardware issue and is definitely a software issue. So they adviced me to do an Archive and Install, basically insert your original OSX discs that came with the machine and install. This will just reinstall the OS down to 10.6.6, all applications will still be intact as before, only the main OS files are changed. Now to wait until the next update to see if this fixes the problem!

\hi mob\zilla\,

\\\\i'm facing the same issue and as you \may have guessed it's the '\' key which acts up intermittently. Does someone know how to solve this. I'm a writer by profession and this is really hampering me.

Don't know if this will help but the problem usually erupts after I create a new folder & rename it.

This is the first time something like this has occured.

Apple, you're on the verge of losing out on a fanboy.

Hi Blaqwolf,

The best thing to do would be to downgrade back to 10.6.6 if you didn't have a problem with it. Just insert the DVD that came with your mac and hold the option key (alt key) on boot which will bring up the boot options. Select the CD and reinstall. By default it will only reinstall the system files and not touch any of your work etc, but still best to take a backup if you can.

This is the first time I have really had any issues with the OS, but as a software developer I know that sometimes these things can happen, I think I am going to invest in a wired keyboard and mouse just incase anything like this happens again!

Cheers

Matt
