iPad 2 glass repair/replacement

So I have my iPad that is now cracked. Pictures are below.

The iPad was dropped from about mid body/underarm and slide and roll off of me.
It fell onto asphalt while it had a Smart Cover on and a sleeve on it.

I would just get the glass fixed but the body is chipped too.
This is the sleeve.

I am planning on going into the Apple store tomorrow (I have an appointment) and seeing what they will do or offer me as a price.

Just as a fun note. I got this as my second iPad 2 because the first one had a small spot of back light bleeding... This one has it around EVERY side! My dad's has it and so does my sister's... 4 out of 4 back light problem.

If anyone else has had their glass replaced could you let me know the price point or what they offered you as a replacement?

Yeah a chink in the armour. I was just generalizing. A lot of people on different threads are flabbergasted when apple looks at them silly when the story is " I woke up and it was cracked". Im not saying thats a lie. Thats again not my place, but all the testing I have seen, has shown the Ipad 2 glass is very strong. It takes a good amount of force to break it. So waking up with a cracked screen can be seen as a joke.

Heres 1 video test : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r4vvQq7BpiE

For you its like anything...You can break things easier if you find weak points. The corner being one I can see. Im sorry 😟. Id be so mad at myself. I have grown attached to my Ipad. But taking the chance for 200$ is almost the price for the insurance and the new one. Plus if you want an upgrade, people still buy broken ones. Use that money to get a new one.

The last thing- 3rd party insurance isnt worth it. When I read the print....You send it to them and a tecnician fixes it. Their technician, not apples. Only a replacement when the Ipad is deemed unfixable. To save a little couple $$ is just that. You get what you pay for. If you think you need accident insurance, pay the extra and get APPLE PLUS. You might pay 100$ upfront, then 50$ for another Ipad, but least its another Ipad. Not just a macgyvered version with toothpicks, spark plugs, and boysenberry glue.
