Help with reuse_uk dataserv-recycling

Would like to know if anyone has had issues with receiving payment from them as I sent my G5 on the 2nd of March and still not had money transferred into my bank.
They hardly reply to emails and when they do they just say same thing, that it takes 21 days for them to receive apple.
My problem is when they sent an email on 25th March saying "The equipment you returned has been received and tested. To enable us to transfer the quote you agreed to your bank account, we require your bank details." which was 159. So i did all that correctly then heard nothing till 7th April Saying

The specification of the equipment you returned is different to the specification you
communicated to us.
Please find our new quote based on the specification of your equipment.

GBP 111,30 because the condtition of the item is "Fair" due to a broken casing.

Please inform us how you want to proceed by answering this email with one of the following
responses:
(a) I agree to the new quote.
(b) Please send the equipment back to me. I am aware that a service charge of 20 Euro
Including V.A.T. per cash on delivery will apply
(c) I want the old equipment to be recycled without any further cost to me
Please provide us with your name and quote number.
IMPORTANT: Following our terms of use, your equipment will be recycled for free if we do
not receive an answer within 14 days.

I replied option (a) as not much choice even though its a metal case and was perfect when i sent it.
Now I have 7 days left before option (c) kicks in and they have not emailed me

Can anyone help

The program is administered by a private company and, according to this:

+The Computer Reuse and Recycling Programme is operated by Dataserv GmbH. For any queries please contact Dataserv support team by email at+

Apple does not participate in the operation of the program; they are simply offering the consumer a way to recycle.

You will need to contact that company. FWIW, I would not mail a computer because it would be difficult to prove the condition it was in; apparently Apple also offers the option to take it into an Apple store if the Mac qualifies. Since you chose to deal with that private company, you will need to contact them.

Like I said the company dont seem to want to reply to emails.
I just want to know from someone who has used this company.
About Apple helping was more just wondering why they would use a company that might be scamming people if that is the case which I have yet to find out as not heard from anyone else that has used the company.

I have had a similar experience with this company. Poor communications and extremely slow service. Resorted to emailing the contact in Germany and the UK customer services inbox, plus calling the UK customer service number on a daily basis. I don't like doing this as I feel I am harassing people, but to be quite honest they have lost my trust.

I'm told a BACS payment is being made today which will clear on Friday (they have confirmed this in writing today, so I will be very interested to see if it happens this time).

They have had my unibody Macbook laptop for two months and my bank account details for over a month and despite sending numerous emails asking for an update I had very limited reponse.

Unfortunatley I will not use the service again and am suprised it is promoted so much on the front page of the Apple Store. My advice to anyone thinking about using this is don't bother, stick it on eBay, at least you are then in control of the situation to a greater extent.

I wish I had reviewed this forum before sending my PC off to Dataserv for recycling, as so far I'm not particularly impressed with them.

Following receipt of a quote, I opted to proceed with the recycling process. I received two automatic emails; the first 'welcoming you to their service' and the second providing packing instructions and a shipping label. The first email had an incorrect email address (reuse_uk@dataservrecycling.com) for their UK customer support team. The second email had alternative address (labelservice_uk@dataserv-group.com), but that doesn't work either. Not a great start!

I had a query about what I should and should not include when packing my PC, so after eventually finding the correct email address, I emailed them - only to be ignored.

Dataserv also state that you can monitor the progress of your returned computer at https://apple.trade-in-platform.com/Public/Login.aspx?pid=1&mid=1 . However, after 5 days of them having my PC, this website still shows that they are "awaiting receipt of my computer" - yet I have signed proof that have it in their possession!

I accept that Dataserv is a separate company to Apple which offers a service which I'm can choose to use. However let's not forget that this company is promoted by Apple on their website and is therefore linked to the Apple brand. Therefore, I'm sure that Apple would be interested to learn the experience of Dataserv's users, especially as they seem to be in stark contrast to Apple's own excellent customer service.

Apple probably would be; however, these forums here are user to user, so you'd have to contact Apple. From what I've read here about this service, I'd say please do contact them and give them your feedback.

Not going to lie this is a pants service, I have expereinced everything everyone has said above. There communication is terrible, when they don't reply makes you feel as if you Apple product has been stolen from you and there is no way of getting it back! I sent my Macbook pro to them on the 18th August its now the 5th September and still not a word, I have given them my bank details but this just stressed me out more because I debated on giving it to them as I had suspitions that they were a fraudulant company. I still havent been paid for my Macbook that I sent them. Its all a joke.

They give you a massive long number to ring which makes you think your ringing a number abroad. But have no fear apple users I have done my research and found a decent UK number to phone those theifing Bas*****

Ring this number and you ask to speak to June Lodgy: 01784 462104

I called her and told how everyone is having problems with this service! and I want my money!

Good Luck I will let you know if I actual get the cash

Just to echo the general consensus here, the service is extremely poor. I had no replies to emails and then several weeks after sending my computer had an email to say that the computer was damaged and the quote was then halved. It was sent in perfect condition. Absolutely no reply to my subsequent emails and pictures.

I will contact Apple and Trading Standards but to anyone who is thinking of using this service please be aware.
