Motorola RAZR v3i does not sync properly with Address Book!

I have bought the RAZR v3i yesterday, the bluetooth pairing is fine. (which the last version RAZR v3 cannot do, you can only use USB cable)

But the horror comes when you try to sync the phone with your Address book through iSync.

After the sync, your phone's directory will receive partial information from your address book (say you have 150 names, you might get 100), but the worst is the 'name' entry in your phone, you will see a long bunch of alpha numeric characters in the name entry. Basically your directory is filled with gabbage, the phone number for each entry is right, but the names are all wrong.

You properly end up typing the name back to your phone using the numeric keypad. But DON'T re-iSync those update back into your computer, you will LOSE both your phone's directory as well as your Address book database after the sync.

I have spend hours to fix the problem, I guess because Motorola has changed their phone directory mapping (they have add more entries in their phone directory), nothing will work with your Address book.

I cannot simply believe these 2 companies have such close relationship in developing ROKR and fail to have their phone to work with the Address book in a Mac... besides Motorola's phone directory is really really low grade... not very professionally developed... maybe Apple should help them to re-design the whole operating system in their phone rather then just sell them the iTune software.

I have decided to refund my purchase.... until Motorola help to fix this problem, I will stick with my old RAZR which works perfectly with my iSync and my Address book.

Help
I bought a v3i yesterday and I've got the same problem as everyone else except that I'm on 10.3.4 and can't upgrade to Tiger because my Protools hardware won't work beyond 10.3.4 (It'll cost me a fortune to upgrade!) What I want to know is can anything be done or can anyone recommend a phone that will work with ical and address book on 10.3.4 ?(RAZR v3?) If so I will try to change my phone
Thanks

i do run tiger however, i did run the k700i on panther with out any dramas at all, it's virtually the same phone and if you have any problems you can tweak isync to work. I did it over bluetooth and it worked fine. I know it sounds a little like an assumption but it's worth a go as the v3 is just a pain i don't know why i even concidered buying it. It's got a useless UI.

Hope you have luck

Yes, it does.
There are a few minusses, every number is a seperate entry. So, someone with three numbers and two emails ends up to be five times in the phone.
The adresses are not transfered either. But it all is minor for me.
I was afraid I had to enter all the info, one by one, myself.
And iCal transferred fine as well, again, a few minusses. A day has only a mark when there is something in iCal on that date, it shows a little corner in the agenda. Clicking on the day gives the details, no end time, just an elapse time.

But I feel it does all I want it do. Compared to my Palm Treo it is more limiting but for me it is enough. I will still take a Palm to work anyhow. But at home it serves me in a very satisfying way, without having to carry the bulky Treo around anymore.
