OK, I read the "Tutorials" but I didn't see the specifications for a photo that you want to add. Anyone know what are: the minimum/maximum sizes in pixels; the maximum file size in KB; graphic formats allowed?

"The file must be a JPG, PNG, GIF, or BMP file, and under 2.0 MB."
Can't tell you about pixel size, but there is a cropping tool to use after you upload a photo. It's Facebook-like small, so keep it little. Crazy that 2 MB is allowed for such a tiny resulting photo.

Did you figure it out? Post the one you're having trouble with here because I don't see the problem in your profile.
Did you try cropping it in Preview before uploading it?
I was using my iPad 2 because my Macbook Pro had just recently broken. Cropping on an iPad is kind of a pain in the iAss.
I wasn't able to find specs for the profile image either, but the profile images as they appear on this and other Apple Support Community pages is 46 x 46 pixels.

However on your actual Profile page the version of the image which appears is 350 x 263 so you would want to allow for that.
Thanks Roger, I tried uploading image files of different sizes and found they were always cropped to a 4:3 ratio with a maximum size of 350 x 262 exactly as you said.
This information is incorrect. I was searching for the exact dimensions that would be needed in order to not have to crop my avatar picture. every size i tried was in correct. Every size i tried, had to be cropped. 90x90 had to be cropped 80x80, 60x60, 30x30, and 10x10 all of them required cropping. I have to assume 1 of 2 things, either I am doing something incorrectly, or apples code is severely ****** up. I will assume the latter since, I have checked both the dimensions, and file size of all of my images. Request; Apple please fix your broken image crop code, thanks, see you next week when its fixed.
Let the image speak for itself... any avatar image is cropped and sized when displayed here. I have chosen the "Default" image (no pick from the array)
That settles that. The other part of this is you must be a Level 3 member to have a custom avatar anyway (never mind the glitch that exists that auto-crops the Primary Profile Picture for SOME new users)
Profile images, as opposed to avatars, end up at 350x264.
