iTunes 10.2.2 no longer organizing library

I have been adding video content to iTunes, and it was working normally. I've got "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" and "Copy files to iTunes Media folder when adding to" checked, and when I add the files, they moved into the iTunes Media folder. When I renamed them or otherwise changed them, the files were updated.

I then upgraded to 10.2.2.12 after being prompted to do so. I have rebooted the computer a few times since just to make sure it's clear. (Win XP SP2, btw)

I continued to add video content, but just noticed that although the files are being copied into the iTunes Media folder, they are then not changing when I edit any information about them. When I change the name in iTunes, the filename doesn't change. When I change the video type from Movie to TV Show, it doesn't move the file from the "Movies" folder to the "TV Shows" folder.

Even weirder, when I do try to change the type from "Movies" to "TV Shows" for example, or change the name of the TV show, it creates the folder in the new location with the proper new name/location, but then doesn't actually move the file! Just creates an empty folder.

I have tried clicking on the file and saying "Consolidate Files..." and it does nothing. Both boxes for organizing/copying are checked.

Everything else seems to be working properly, but this is quite frustrating. Any thoughts? Can anyone else reproduce this problem on this version, or is it just me?

Thank you.

So it's just me? yesterday I check'd my version and it was 10.2.2.14 64-bit (Win 7) which supposedly works just fine, I thought it was maybe because it carried the bug from an early version so I uninstalled iTunes and downloaded the new version from the website (10.3.0.54 - 64b) but the problem persists, I have an album on a "new folder" which is supposed to get organized as soon as I add it to my library as it has always happened in the past, but it doesnt. I've triple checked that the "keep itunes media folder organized" is checked, but still no luck.

Maybe I need to perform a complete uninstall but I don't know how :S could anyone pleas help me?

There is another iTunes build out today 10.3.1.55 which might help. I doubt uninstalling & reinstalling will make a difference over the straight upgrade.

Have you unchecked "Keep iTunes Media folder organized", applied the change, then checked it again. As long as the state of the option remains unchanged there is nothing to trigger the organization of content that didn't get moved correctly by an earlier build.

I uninstalled the previous version (10.3.0.54 - 64b) since it didnt detected anything new from the "check for updates" option.

So now I have 10.3.1.55 - 64b, but still no luck, i've tried unchecking "Keep iTunes Media folder organized" applying the changes, restarting the program, then again checking the option, everytime i check it again and apply the changes, it appears a popup-progressbar that shows some songs pretty fast (one might think it's working now, but this has also happened with previous versions) tho, but the folder i'm having trouble with stills not organized, i've tried with other loose songs, and same deal, they don't get organized 😟

To be honest, I had the same problem with version 10.2.2.12, but the newest version (10.3.1.55) has fixed the problem for me. At least, it has worked properly with the 2 or 3 video files I have renamed...they were refiled and renamed based on the new metadata.

I didn't do anything special myself...just ran the standard update to 10.3.1.55 and then manually tolf it to consolidate files. Everything has worked properly since then.

If you have downloads stuck in the download folder, start a new download, quickly go to FILE, LIBRARY, and ORGANIZE LIBRARY, and check Consolidate files. DO NOT CLICK OK. Let the downloads get to the point where they say processing file, then click OK and the will finish processing and leave your downloads folder.

It's a pain and definitely a bug that still exists in iTunes but this does seem to work.
