Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

"Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

Netflix is a blessing on the AppleTV. I've been enjoying it for the greater part of a week. Suddenly, while watching an Instant Streaming title... the quality lowered considerably. I paused the title, exited to the menu, and tried to launch the title once again (after checking my internet connection!) It did not try to load, it merely displayed the error: "Netflix is currently unavailable. Please try again later."

I exited out to the menu again, and noticed that the Movie Poster images while I had Netflix selected were not "Suggestions For You" but rather "New Arrivals." It had never shown the "New Arrivals" before.

I unplugged the power cable and gave it upwards to 5 minutes. I plugged the cable back in and tried once more. The Movie Poster images were back to being based off of "Suggestions For You," so I had high hopes. Nope, once I tried to select a title... the same error greeted me.

I have gone to the website on my 13" Macbook, and I have streamed Netflix over my PS3 console to confirm this is indeed an AppleTV-problem. Netflix is not currently unavailable.

I have unplugged the device once again and will leave it sit for an hour or more.

I am incredibly dissatisfied with this predicament, especially considering I will now waste a majority of my day-off trying to fix this error to simply enjoy a few films on the one day I can.

Thanks.

AppleTV 2, iOS 4.3.2, NOT Jailbroken.

I've tried all of the suggestions in this forum and nothing has worked. It once worked great, but Im assuming since all of the updates that Apple doesn't support Nextflix anymore?? For a long time I thought is was Netflix, but after trying it on my Droid and X-Box I had no problem. Anywho, this has been going on for me for about 6 months...way too long. I'm done with "Crapple" going back to Microsoft. Like to have my $100 back to go get a Roku HD or something of the like. Hope you guys have/had better luck then me.

I just started having this problem in the last few weeks. But, I can't play "anything" on Netflix. I posted the error I am getting below. I do live in the Caribbean, but Netflix is offered here and I had been watching it just fine for a long time. We had a Netflix account prior to buying the Apple TV, but watched it through our Wii, but once we got the Apple t.v. it worked fine until recently. I have tried some of the fixes, but still nothing.

"Cannot play video, The connected display is not supported."

I also had another app that I could watch tv programs on previously, but after a recent update, I would get an error saying the programming was not available here. Kind of weird, since I had been watching it for the longest time! Very frustrated. I love Apple, so hope they fix this soon! Especially living here, I would love all the options that I used to have, otherwise......not much options.

My problem is resolved, I have to guess, due to an update or when I reset everything. When I bought my Apple TV, Neflix never appeared, so I had to access it from my app on my Ipad2. I did go through the steps of shutting the Apple TV down and resetting it. Now Netflix shows up on my Apple TV and everything plays perfectly. I was making it difficult for myself by trying to watch Netflix from my app and didn't think to look for the Netflix option on my Apple TV since it had not been there previously.

Its a simple fix. No need to reboot, router, atv etc. YOu just need to log out of netflix and then back in.

For me being in a location out of usa, do this on your apple tv:

-Settings

-itunes store

-Location

-Change your location, ie mine from usa back to Australia.

-Go to home screen and make sure netflix has gone, ie a region where its not allowed.

-Then reverse back what you'e done. change region back to USA.

-Open netfix

-VOILA !

🙂 Happy days
