Microsoft has made it clear that they will be pushing the Metro implementation to make everything touchscreen which will limit the Flash usability.

Flash has been present on a number of different tablets including HP, several Android iterations, and the Playbook. All of them heavily advertised that they had Flash. So by your reasoning these tablets now dominated the tablet market and Apple is barely scraping by to give away the iPad. Because by your reasoning there is a vast market of people who want Flash on their tablet.

But this didn't happen and two of the above comptetitors are already gone.

Microsofts closest competitor in the tablet world is going to be Android, not iOS, and they are coming from a long way back. I doubt the fight will be over Flash.

And I think the opinion that apps are as dead as CDs is sort of surreal. I like my drawing apps to be on my iPad, not something I have to go to a website and use Flash.

Deggie,

You can use a desktop browser such as Google Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or IE and they work exactly the same as the metro browser.

By choosing to use a desktop browser instead of the metro browser you lose nothing. They work exactly the same, and by choosing to use a desktop browser over the metro browser you are not sacrificing anything at all.

And the metro browser also supports Adobe Flash btw, just not on all sites, but again, you can't tell any difference between using a desktop browser or the metro browser.

Check out this video my friend made, he sent this to me via email today after I brought up your same questions/concerns.

I have a Android Phone that also does not support flash player - Adobe has terminated all future mobile versions of it.

I have no idea why you're telling me this. Most current versions of Android phones have Flash. I am well aware of Adobe's discontinuation of development of Flash for mobile (as is pretty muchy everyone else in this thread at this point).

Basically nobody cares about flash. You can use the internet happily without it.

If no one cares about Flash and everyone can use the interente happily without it, why do you suppose people keep asking for it on iOS? Are they just doing it to be annoying? Or perhaps they really want it?

Here's a url that explains it...http://mashable.com/2011/03/08/adobe-wallaby/

This isn't the article I was talking about in my previous post but basically you use Adobe Air to convert flash to HTML 5 also google has recently released a flash to HTML 5 converter...so in no way is flash going away but it's going through a transition.

Adobe has a great article on this. They are not getting rid of flash but they are going towards HTML 5.

As Chris CA (dozens of other people in this thread) have pointed out, Adobe has abandoned development on Flash for mobile devices. Again, I don't know why you're directing any of this to me. I have almost zero interest in the rest of Adobe's plans.

I must say that I agreed with eww on that. Symantec is slow, annoying, overpriced, and just plain horrible. Actually, you don't need ClamXAV either, but it's probably the best.

But this thread was worse. It only took from 8:00 PM to 11:30 PM to become a five page argument about trolls, Anti-Virus, Symantec, and other things. But it's fun entertainment.

guys, this is an interesting post , i understood maybe 15% of its content...😕

can I ask a plain-dumb-simple user question? You all say flash is dead and everyone is going towards html 5, i have no problem with that but my little tiny reality is different than yours apparently... I use the ipad to watch live soccer and ALL of the sites use flash, all of them... it's very annoying that a device like the ipad forces me to download puffin or something else to watch a live stream with even more lagging.
