    Hello, here's the easier way:

    1. Connect computer-iphone

    2. iTunes>iphone>Info> Sync contacts..... UNCHECK

    3. It will then ask you if you want to keep contacts already on iphone or erase them > ERASE

    And thats it =P

I too have done all the "normal" things to get rid of the contacts off my phone, but still have 255 extra contacts that got sync'ed to it some how long ago.  Had to use Spring Clean ($0.99), ensure it was allowed access to my contacts (under Privacy under settings) and then reboot my phone.  It then saw all my contacts, and I could delete them.  Now, I can turn back on my Google Contact sync, and my Facebook contact sync.

This was my iPhone 4s, OS7

Well...I just managed to do it on one of my iPods without any additional apps.

    Settings

    iCloud

turn on synch for Contacts (select Merge)

    wait

turn OFF synch (select DELETE FROM DEVICE)

***Presumably, if you already have your synch on...you can skip the first step***

Completely clean slate.  No fuss no muss.  Good luck!

    Hi,

For those having prob with Spring Clean's 'No Contacts', pls do this:

The App works fine but, a word of warning. If you do not allow Spring Cleaning to access your contacts, you're in for a very frustrating time. If you did not accept the access when first launching the App,

go to Settings/Privacy/Contacts and ensure Spring Clean has access. ( select allow)

Want to remove all the contacts on you iPhone, or want to clean up all data including messages, call history, apps, system setting, photo, video, keyboard cache, safari bookmark,e-mail etc. on your iPhone, iPad before donate, resell, or trade it in? Whether it is for security reasons, or want to save time, I strongly recommend to use iPhone iPad Files Eraser, which allows you complete erase includes contacts, messages, photos, apps, account info, videos, passwords and other personal data stored on your iDevices and ensure that 100% nothing recoverable even if use the third party data recovery tool.

The only option that apple provide (WITHOUT ANY APP) is via icloud delete.

*make sure you have an icloud account-it's free to register using your apple id

(although one device is resticted to only create 3 free icloud id)

    1. make sure your phone is icloud synced-SETTING>iCLOUD>TURN OFF CONTACTS.

(sign in icloud, merge all contact calender with wifi connection).

    2. You can choose to back them up if you wish to.

    3. then choose DELETE FROM IPHONE.

    4. Huala!!! all gone!!

    *(to back up)

2.1. go to www.icloud.com after you sign in(equal to create if sign in for the first time) in icloud in setting.

2.2. then log in(use the id you use to log in to your icloud in setting)

2.3. after login, then go to contact, the bottom left GEAR, press it, export vCard.

Hi, I found when I tried to sync my phone old numbers came up. I found out today if you log onto iCloud via a PC, you can go into contacts and delete them over the computer and they automatically deleted off my phone. If I deleted off my phone they didn't remove off iCloud, so I now hope my old numbers won't keep coming up when I re-sync my phone. Hope this helps

If you need to delete all contacts you can do this without an App as I have just done it. Go into Settings, iCloud and then turn off Contacts. It will ask you whether you want to keep the contacts on your phone or delete them, so just choose to delete and no more contacts!

Then turn on Contacts again so any new ones you add from that point on will back up next time to iCloud.

The best thing to do WITHOUT DOWNLOADING ANY APP IS THIS:

    1. Sync your iPhone with iTunes on your Computer (Assuming Windows 8)
    2. On your iTUNES menu, click on INFO tab
    3. Check the box:  SYNC ALL CONTACTS WITH:  WINDOWS CONTACTS.
    4. Click on the ALL CONTACTS radio button.
    5. Hover your mouse on the the lower right corner of the screen so the SEARCH icon comes up on the vertical bar that appears. (Windows 8 characteristic)
    6. Click SEARCH and type CONTACTS and press enter
    7. All your Contacts will appear
    8. DELETE the contacts you want to delete using your mouse and CTRL key for simultaneous selection.
    9. SYNC iTUNES AGAIN with your iphone
    10. This should delete all the contacts on your iphone that you deleted from your windows contacts.

Well that is an ALL OR NOTHING solution.  What if you want only a certain many contacts to delete?
