Hi guys,
I've been trying to activate my ipad for days but itunes keeps showing the message "we are sorry, but we are unable to cotinue with your activation at this time, please try again later". I've tried everything including restore the ipad, uninstall and reinstall itunes, and power off the ipad, but nothing changes. Anyone with similar issues or solutions? Any help will be appreciated!

Since you're on Windows: Did you try it with your firewall disabled?
If it's a 3 g At&t model try to do it without the sim card installed
Disabled my firewall but still won't work....the itunes still shows "waiting for ipad" and after 1-2 minutes the same screen would appear...
I'm no expert and I've never seen your issue on the discussion site before but have you tried a hard reset on the iPad and then try to activate again?
Hold down on the sleep button and the home button at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears, let go of the buttons and let the iPad restart. Reboot your computer as well then try to activate again. The hard reset cures a multitude of minor issues on the iPad once it is up and running but I'm not sure if it would do any good in your case.
You can also try disabling any anti virus software and maybe that will help.
Hi, I also having same problem as Lucy, after hard reset, i cannot activate my ipad, i reinstalled itunes, and connect my ipad to itune but received " 'We are unable to continue with your activation at this time..". and Ipad automatically turn off , and then turn on again..it repeat again and again. please help to solve this problem. thanks.
Thanks a lot guys. Unfortunately none of the solutions seems to work so far....and I'm also having the same problem - the ipad turns on and off repeatedly. I made a reservation at an Apple genius bar on Sunday so we'll see if that helps, but if anyone has any solution please be sure to post it, thanks in advance!

I get a similar message when trying to activate my iPhone 4 so it could be that there is some problem with Apple's web services or activation servers.
Same problem, cant get the retore process past- unable to continue with your activation at this time

Would be interested in what Apple have to say as i have the same problem. Have tried to restore several times but still get the 'we're sorry we are unable to continue with your activation at this time message and iPAD just has the connect to iTunes screen. Seems like it has just happened in last few days judging from the dates of the posts. I'm in Australia so happening here too
Went to the genius bar today, they restored the setting again but it didn't help, so they said they would get me a replacement. I asked the guy what the problem was and he said he had no idea....so I guess there is officially no solution for this problem, just get a new one from the store.
Still no solution so took it to VODACOM (cellular service provider).
Will have an answer in a week.
Same problem here. Tried hard reset, restart...everything! No luck. C'mon Apple!!!
I just got my iPad 2 this morning. Activated it w/o any problem.
Tonight, after restoring it to factory setting, I got the same problem as you.
I don't know if it matters, but I did a hard reset with the iPad still connected to my macbook and it's on now. When it came back on, everything is there. Just like brand new (activated) iPad.
Brought my iPad from Spain, but can not activate it for several hours!
What could be the solution?
