Scrolling iPad User Guide

I'm new to the iPad and have uploaded the iPad User Guide so I can have it close by for all the questions I have. In order to use this guide which has about 174 pages, how is the fastest way to go from page one to any of the 174 pages remaining? I see there is a small rectangular bar on the left side of the file but it does not respond when I try to move it. Trying to get from page 6 to 92 (e.g.) it takes a VERY long time doing it manually. Is there an easier way to do this? On my iMac Intel the problem does not exist since you can relocate the blue bar quickly.

Randall, you have not done something wrong, just something different. What you are looking at via an icon on your App page is a version of the iPad Manual that is a Safari link, only optimized for the iPad. I bet you see navigation prompts to get to the different sections of the book. This is a convenient alternative quick reference - I have put this button on one of my App pages also. But this is not the PDF version.

So I recommend you follow Demo's detailed instructions as well, to get a copy into iBooks as PDF so you can have it in both formats. Both will help you, I think.

In the long, descriptive explanation that I posted above, I typed this phrase

Enter the words iPad User Guide for iOS 4.3

But I neglected to specify to type that into the search field.

I now understand what "app pages" are. You are referring to any screen with apps on it. I never thought of it that way. Hang in there, we are all trying to get you to a point where you feel comfortable using the book or the PDF manual. I apologize for any confusion I caused in my post above.

I think I will stick with what I told you on April 26. I'll learn some of what is neededfor the iPad while next to my iMac with has the latest version of the guide for what I bought. After all we will probably only use this iPad when we go away which isn't often. We just need email and Safari and they both seem to be working fine at this point.

I thank you so much for all your help.
