How do I clean an iPad Smart Cover ?

My Smart Cover is dirty. What is the best way to clean it ?

Do not use any kind of liquid, as the leather will absorb it. Instead use the softest white eraser you can find and start erasing with light to medium pressure. I have a white cover and just erased ball point marks from it as well as the dark discoloration from using it.

All I have is kitchen or bathroom wipes. Would they be alright to lightly wipe now and again to get fizzy drink spots (from the fizz) and grease off from fingers.
