Why can't I find Boot Camp 3.0 download?

Has anyone seen a download of Boot Camp 3.0? Not 2.2 or 3.1 just 3.0.

Thanks!

It is not downloadable, it's on your disc (and if you lost your disc you'll need to buy another)

the differance between us. is you have a horse direction view that you only see just your front. please look around and will see what is going on, I am judging. I am askign more technicla question the relaiton between bootcamp and OS. but answers are " buy CD". it would be solution but I do not find it right. sicne when I buy Mac pro. ıt is promoted that we can work with Windows OS. but now I need to pay for Mac OS again and again for dirvers. it is not known hardware behaviour. there is problem. Bootcamp and OS should be sperated. even we need to pay for Bootcamp it should be seperated and should have low cost not linked to Mac OS.

On the other hand. for easy to have beahviour of Appple , there is another contradcition. even we pay for Bootcamp I should buy Bootcamp over internet even like Lion. I should not go any place to buy CD.

I am indeed not satisfied with it and lookign for other solution or other answers. I explaiend it to you the reason why it should not be yours liek buy new OS. this si discussion board and I have option to accept or not your advises. and look for others as like what I need or intendent to be.

again thank you. I also send my feedback to Apple. hope I got the positive answer.

sorry again to all who says Buy Cd. no need to to answer me about please.

I like Apple solutions in general and use it. hardware is very good. Iphone/Ipad/pod hardware and software are all very good. ordinary solutions or products are not my choice. But I do not have to like all or accept all from Applle or can change my stile like while using windows to chnage macos easyly.

So I bought Apple to use Windows, especially after I purchased somethign and learn semethign new to me liek buy Mac OS each time is problem, as should be like everyone. I have right to complain lookign for solution and think that I should take it free as initial. if not I should only buy Bootcamp with reasonable price. it is the fair way. anyway my complain is according to few writers here that says buy CD. I wait Apple's answer and chekign internet if I can find free. there is soem sites that pretend to offer bootcamp 3.0 by fee. I could not trust them.

if I know buy cd cases from initial I will not compalain. or there is no any explanation at apple web side about how to get Boot camp 3.0 or if we buy Windows solutiosn we need to pay for new relases as purchasing new Mac OS.

I realize that this is an old post but I hoping that one of you upper level members (varjak paw, the hatter, csound1) may be able to help me....

I'm attempting for the first time to partition and install windows 7 on an old macbook pro (as a test run before I try it on my newer model).

I erased and reinstalled snow leopard, and ran all the software updates before proceding with the partition and windows installation. I followed the manual:

http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/Boot_Camp_Install-Setup_10.6.pdf

Windows has seemed to install fine, but when it came to installing the boot camp driver, I inserted my snow leopard install disc and attempted running the setup.exe file in the Bootcamp directory and received this message:

"boot camp x64 is unsupported on this computer model"

(As a side note, the macbook pro has an Intel Core 2 Duo processor so I had installed the 64 bit version of Windows 7)

I had previously read that Windows 7 is only compatible with Boot Camp 3.1 or higher, and that the updates must be installed sequentially, so this error message has given me quite the dillema... I cannot install 3.1 without 3.0 and I can't install 3.0 from my Snow Leopard disc (and it is not available for download, as pointed out a MILLION times in this thread 😉).

The best I've come up with so far is to insert the Leopard install disc originally bundled with the MacBook Pro, and install boot camp from there. I recall that there were a couple error messages during the process, one to do with Intel (Windows offered to look for a solution online (there were none) or continue, so I continued). Anyway, despite the 64 bit installation of Windows 7, Boot Camp is located in "Program Files (x86)" rather than just the "Program Files" folder (does it make a difference?). The .exe file is called "KbdMgr" and it appears to be version 2.0.

I have since tried to reinsert Snow Leopard and upgrade but still get the same error message. So I then went on and installed all the Apple drivers individually (D:\Boot Camp\Drivers\Apple\x64) from the Snow Leopard disc e.g. AppleTrackpadInstaller. I've been too nervous to try the same with the non-Apple drivers e.g. Intel.

I've also guessed that 2.0 needs upgrading sequentially to 3.0 via 2.1->2.2. I wasn't able to find a clear v2.1 on the apple support page - the closest I found was BCUpdateVista64. Either way, attempting to install that version or 2.2 does nothing... literally. I try to open them and nothing runs.

Soooo, long story short, I have Boot Camp 2.0 and am finding it impossible to upgrade to 3.0. Is it something to do with 32 (x86) vs 64 bit?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Glad it helped!

I usually say to copy all the contents to a folder (Desktop or where you will store it for future) somewhere that Windows can also write changes to the installer file.

I wish you just needed the Apple Software Update for Windows and then it would pull everything current down for installng. Maybe even the first step would be to update itself so ASU was current even.

I have the Snow Leopard disc but cannot figure out how to access Boot Camp Assistant 3.0 (apparently the only one that works with Windows XP) on it. I am currently running El Capitan 10.11.6 and when I plug the disc in, I am advised that the installer no longer works. When I search "optional downloads" I can find no sign of Boot Camp 3.0. I need to install Windows XP on my Mac since that is the only OS that will run a specific software program that I need. I would be grateful for any helpful advice. Thank you.
