iTunes won't stop music videos at the indicated stop time?

iTunes won't stop music videos at the indicated stop time. Start time works though. Both seem to work for mp3.

This problem didn't come up until one or two days ago. My iTunes was updated around that time too.

Thanks!

The following steps have allowed me to successfully edit the start and stop times of a variety of songs:

* Right-click on the track you want to edit and select "Get Info".

* In the pop-out window select the "Options" tab.

* Enter the "Stop-time" or "Start-time" you want to use and make sure the checkbox to the right is selected.

* Now hit "Ok" in the lower right corner to close the pop-up. (This is where one would logically stop but logic does not exist in this excercise)

* Right-click on the track you editted again and select "Create AAC Version" - you will see a new grayed out copy below your original track - after a few seconds the grayed out track will "ping" and you're editted start or stop time are applied

rallen5. The issue is not the start and stop time for audio files in iTunes, it is the stop time for video, such as movies and music videos.

Any stop time entered and checked in the checkbox does not work with video anymore. Video will always play until the end. Apple prefers to deny and ignore the issue and has not provided a fix in the last 5 iTunes updates.

I have similar problem on mac and apple tv. The designated start time on my itunes options works, but not the designated end times. My work around is dragging videos from ITUNES to QUICKTIME then click EDIT then TRIM to desired start and stop. You can also split clips and delete middle portions although some videos won't let you export them. Trim worked with me perfectly on videos that split wouldn't export.

So to recap

drag videos or open in quicktime

edit

trim

export

itunes and select best quality option and enjoy. And Apple, please fix this. It should be pretty easy since editing start works perfectly. ugh. 🙂

They fixed it!!! Finally. 😎

I don't know if it's the upgrade to OSX 10.9.3 or the accompanying iTunes 11.2 upgrade (I did them both at once) but it now works. Videos end wherever you tell them to.

Another thing that is different is that the time slider at the top of the screen is different. It only shows the part of the song between your specified Start and Finish times - but that means you can no longer drag the playpoint back to the beginning of the song to watch and/or listen to it from the beginning. Don't know why they just don't show the entire timespan of the track and 2 little marks to show the Start and Finish times. Oh well. I'm still happy they fixed it. 🙂
