Will the iPad ever get flash support?

I find many web sites using flash components and I am unable to use these sites. Many videos will not play and Facebook uses a flash control to upload photos to your wall so I can not even upload photos I have on my iPad through Facebook. I can go to my photo and push it to Facebook but you can not leave a comment by doing it this was or at least I see on obvious way to do this. I will have to say I am very dissatisfied with my iPad 2 because of this. Playing videos is one of Apples Bragging points yet a lot of the web sites I visit I can not watch the videos from my iPad.

Deggie you sure sound like the model Apple consumer having all the decision made for you and not looking outside the box as to what you can do or learn on your own. I'm not sure why you think I'd waste my time getting that information for you when you can get it yourself. Or maybe you can ask Apple. If they feel you should have it they will give it to you.

And no I'm not Randy Mars... That's being short sited on your part I guess.

And I guess since I'm defending Adobe and Flash you think that makes me a fanboy like yourself (there's that short sited thing again). I like Flash as well as Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere, but I don't like Dreamweaver. So maybe I just like Adobe to a point.

Also I make my living as a Web Applications Developer and Flash is just one of many languages I know. You seem a little small minded so I wouldn't expect you to understand that concept. But in case you don't understand what my argument was, it was this... I don't like any company telling me what I can and can't do with a product I purchase. Just because I'm not an Apple fan, doesn't mean I think their products are crap. However once you leave the Apple bubble, you will see that there are better options out there and a lot of the things I see in Apple commercials (that are useful) are already available on Android. But people in the Apple bubble probably wouldn't realize that.

Good luck with your beliefs.

But you know who he is apparently.

I don't recall asking you to get any information for you.

I came from a mainframe and UNIX background (you do know Android is based upon UNIX, right), and also was in charge of all of the PCs and AIX boxes at my last place of employment before retiring. I have no problem with Apple's approach to computing as I got tired of keeping up with all of the anti-everything software that you had to run on Windows.

I also don't waste my time going to Windows sites, or Adobe sites, or Android sites saying you should see how bad your stuff is and switch. That is called being a troll. Which is what you are.

I'm done feeding you.

optikool...

Among the forum regulars, I am probably the most vocal Flash fan. However, there is something called "reality." Flash is not supported by IOS devices. Never has been, is not now, never will be. If Flash is an absolute requirement for someone, then obviously an IOS device is not the product for them. It accomplishes nothing for those individuals to come to the forum demanding what they can not get.

Well deggie if someone that runs accorss a site talking about Flash and Apple and they decide to comment and that makes them a troll, well I guess I'm a troll. Want a cookie for dead on observation? But I will most likely have forgotten about this thread or lost interest by tomorrow so you shouldn't worry. My original post was made just to past the time bofore work finished. And you provided an a nice destraction to make the time go by. I remember RealPlayer back in the day and it was no use to me then. Most likely there was some other player that I preferred better.

Wow, it's amazing, I've been away for several years.

-I came in today to see if any one knew anything about the iPad 3 they just started advertising. I was curious myself to know if there had been any ice thaw between Apple and Adobe over Flash. Early models I assumed the Flash lockout wasn't just competition but also an energy conservation tactic as the 1st gen had an incredible low power chip, I cannot even call it a CPU. Second gen it's obvious there's ice between the companies. But as I read this thread it seems that there is also a rampant infection going around. It seems to be causing an excess of fanboyism. Posters here are quick to pull out accusations and point fingers. People, this isn't a political discussion. In fact the original question was very simple. How about just answering the question, or not saying a thing, and moving on?

I do believe the TOS does prohibit name calling and other such behaviors as I have seen here today.

I hope that I see different in other posts. I hope that those of you who have climbed the ranks are able to present yourselves better, as those who are here to help, and not to harass each other or those asking questions.

I one of those who own apple products and come here to whine. I would like to stay in the apple family, but will have to get a different tablet if they don't change the policy. I find flash useful, even if I don't understand all the reasons apple believes they are passe. Apple could have chosen to work with adobe to workout a means to make flash usable. Instead they chose to go to the mattresses. I believe this will prove to be a mistake. What undid apple last time was their desire to remain proprietary. It will prove their undoing again. I am hopeful they will announce a change in this policy and update their ios to use flash. I just bought the ipad for my wife and am waiting on my own tablet (my macbook pro is enough for me for now). But will probably be looking for a tablet by year end. I am hopeful by then I will be able to purchase an ipad rather than an android tablet.
