Where are the trailers?

On http://trailers.apple.com/

Running 10.6.7 using Safari and Firefox

It's more of a curiosity thing, why did Apple remove the trailers for the new movies coming out?

Why is Apple referring everyone to the movie's website to watch the trailer? (I liked being able to browse and watch from one place)

Does anyone else have this problem?

Possible Fix: Change Your DNS - Then reset and empty cache in Safari. Finally restart Safari.

I had this same problem and fixed it. I tried turning off extensions, other browsers, even another computer. It occurred to me that they were all using Google DNS: 8.8.8.8.

I switched to another DNS, restarted Safari, emptied cache and reset Safari.. then restarted Safari again and I am now able to view Movie Trailers again. In my case I switched to 208.67.222.222 for DNS and things are working now.

I am still having this issue sporadically on my network which I run my own DNS servers. I have not had this problem with my MBP which has a lower screen resolution than than my Mac Pro.

If you all are still having problems, just call Apple, the technician I talked to said to call back if this issue is persisting. Just be sure to tell Apple about the Macs and browsers you've tested and when you first noticed it.

One note for firefox users, OpenDNS has been known to steal Firefox's integration with Google's Browse By Name queries. For example you type in "apple forums" (no quotes) in the FF address bar, you will get taken to http://discussions.apple.com On OpenDNS, it inserts the apple forums query into their search engine instead of taking you to the Apple forums... very annoying but this does not affect Safari for the moment.

I am getting the same Javascript errors (scriptalucious and Builder) on both my iPad and my Windows7 machine in multiple browsers (iPad:Safari,Atom,Mercury; Windows7:Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Safari). All software is up to date. I tried the DNS thing and it did not work. I tried resetting my router, and that did not work. Opera gave a more detailed message about the Builder error, but it seems to be still the same thing. What is the problem?

How can this error affect ALL of my browsers regardless of the platform? Is my ISP blocking/caching something?

I was seeing the Apple trailers drop-down menu for about a day, then it stopped appearing. I had my network/iMac set to Google DNS, with OpenDNS as a fallback. I've since changed back to my provider's DNS, rebooted, etc., but to no effect.

Oddly, for the past couple of days I kept getting a failure of the main trailer page as well. Message said the trailer app had failed to load, techs had been notified, etc. Thought maybe they were working on it. But now that page is back, but I'm still unable to view trailers.

And now I also can't view them on my iPad, which worked before. Weirder still: my MBP works fine with the trailers. Added weirdness: same problem with my 24-inch iMac at the office.

Beginning to suspect this issue runs deep.

I'm on a Macbook, 2.16Ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo, and 2G SDRAM, with 10.6.7. I've had this problem now for a week and I've tried restarting, resetting Safari, etc. I get the same issue when I use Chrome.

My wife's computer is a Macbook Pro, 2.26Ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo with 2G DDR3, and 10.6.7. She also has the issue.

We don't get any error messages, just no box to see the trailers. I remember it switched some time last week. I regularly visit trailers.apple.com and was surprised to find that some of the movie sites didn't have the button to open the actual trailers. I reset Safari to try and fix the problem, and now all of the trailers lack the button.

This problem has been complained about fairly extensively here:

http://forums.macnn.com/89/macnn-lounge/440032/cant-play-trailers-at-apple-com/

And here:

It doesn't sound like a system-specific problem. Both PCs and Macs are having the issue AND it's happening in different areas of the country (USA - I'm in Miami). Me thinks it's a bug in their coding that they've recently worked on for the site that's hit some machines.

If anyone finds a solution, please post. Apple! Hurry up and fix this!
