Thanks for the message InterceptorIII.
I tried the removal of the all security last night and that still had the same effect - all ok on our original iPhone 4s, iPad, 3 other mobile phones, xbox and a laptop.
But our new iPhone 4s? - no the little rascal still does not connect.
The thing is this new iPhone was delievered last thursday and after Apple kindly replaced the phone with another at the Apple Store in Brent Cross on Sunday I am having the same issue with the replaced phone.
As I ponder the situation it seems to me:
1. Is it a BT Infinity Home Hub problem? One iPhone 4s connects no problem, 2 iPhones (a new and replaced one) will not connect, other devices connect without problem including an iPad. I have tried connecting to the BTFon and BTOpenZone as well and the same problem comes up - continual spinning disk rather than connecting.
2. Is it an iPhone 4s problem? lots of people obvioulsy have similar issues on home routers based on this forum issue but two new iPhones having the same problem is surely unlikely.
Actions taken now: replaced phone, reset of the phone - network and everything, modem and router restarted, pairing mode used, security removed entirely, wep tried instead of standard wpa/wpa(2), removing all other wifi devices, tried each channel twice rather than automatic, examined every hub option to see if there any maximums or over-ride etc facilities. I wanted to be able to hard-wire the MAC Address but nothing is available on the BT Hub.
My Homeplug supplier has suggested I need a I could use an Access Point (£40) in my Homeplug LAN and then connect to that device.

Any thoughts?
Thanks for reading and I continue to be open to any pointers as there must be a solution!
