HI,

I have been reading all the posts and can concur that we are all having the same problem our IPhones will not connect to our Home networks via WI-FI. I have only had this problem since updating to software version 4.3.3 (8J2). Now understandable like everyone else i have checked my home router and i have checked other devices such as my laptop that connects to it and all is working properly, which leaves me to conclude that the new update has caused the problem. If anyone has solved the problem I would very much appreciate the solution.

Thanks for trying. I've been doing a fair amount of research on this problem, and I read that people have been turning off cellular data. These people claim that while they have cellular data turned off, the problem does not persist. Obviously this is not a fix, but could have provided another clue.

Thanks for trying. I will continue to research this problem.

Just to gather some more information on the problem, Could those of you that know, please inform me what Security Mode/Protocol your router is currently using (WPA2, WPA, WEP, etc). If you are running WPA2, try changing it to WPA and tell me the results. If you have questions on how to do this, please ask and I will do my best to inform you your specific router. Thanks everyone for your patience in dealing with this issue.

There could be any number of issues regarding not connecting after an update. Similar to Greg stated, if you are using a WEP Key prior to the update, you probably WILL want to change the key to WPA2, best option? Make it a personal WPA2 key. Alternatively it could be that the Router Firmware needs updating in order to match the iOS Update. Or you could be using MAC Addressing on the Router. There are quite a few options that can and will effect the connection.

If, as stated, the iPhone works fine on any other Network bar the Home Network it is not an iPhone issue specifically. It is a compatibility issue between the iPhone and the Network, 99% of the time being an issue with the Network settings.

I agree with Korthal. Based on some research I've done, I'm starting to think the iPhone 4.3.2 and 4.3.3 updates may have some problems with a specific type of Security protocol. Would love to hear the feedback of those that are able to switch to a different protocol than they are currently on.

On one router (d-Iink 655) am using WPA2. A wifi extender (Powerlink) is unencripted. I can turn off all encryption but I do not think that will help. I live in the country so risk is small. I would see any one using the signal. My phones show connected to a good signal but then cannot access the internet. When I do connect, I lose the connection if I go out of the house and back in. Thanks!

I got my iphone 4 only Friday and have the same problem as everyone else.

I have tried all the suggestions above.

I have lowered my router encryption to Wep and recreated Wifi on Iphone4 but it makes no difference.

My laptop connects fine, the only alternative I can think is to turn off encryption altogether which I aint doing

I dont want to sound hysterical but this is not a router problem in that it will probably happen with any router.

Hi Guys,

after a morning of no help from apple i have took the advice from one of the lads in the Apple store Gateshead big thanks to him at no charge.

We all have the sam problem. All i did to resolve it was a RESTORE via Itunes ******BACK UP ONLY*****

Before i did this i checked my WI-FI connection deatils.

in WIFI network settings under IP address there is a tab DHCP that lists my

IP Adress

Subnet Mask

Router

DNS

what seems to have happended since the new update the ROUTER AND DNS setting were missing. I RESTORED via Itunes ******BACK UP ONLY***** and now these setting are back and my WI-FI is working.

Pls let me know it this works for anyone else

Cheers

Hello Greg

I have seen problem with iphone 4 seeing home wifi, but unable to connect. Odd thing is that it connects fine to a Sagem router at one end of the house, but unable to connect to a DLink DAP 1160 which is used to extend wifi to the other end of the house via a cat 5 cable. The iphone will connect to a neighbours BT homehub system when tested using her passwork key, and seems to connect to any other system worldwide ie in pubs, restaurants etc.

Every other device (all non apple) connect to either access point in my house. I have tried changing encription settings/beacon frequencies/done numerous resets on the phone and router to no avail. Updating iphone today with the latest software version has made no improvement.

I am totally stumped, I am summing up the courage to get the brush off either from apple or dlink helplines.

BTW this problem appears to be documented on other web sites, again there are lots of ideas, but no definitive solutions.

Hi William

I am very new to all this so please bear with me i will do my best and try and be clear when explaining..

when you have loaded your phone into Itunes go to the Summary page. there are two options 1 to check for updates and 2 directly underneath that RESTORE

Press RESTORE: you should be prompted and asked would you like to restore from BACK UP.. this is what i did. once this is completed it will then ask the question do you wish to restore fron " AS NEW" or from your iphone settings i.E my reads " Paul's IPHONE." i slected Paul's IPHONE after a few minutes my phone was fully restored and the WI-FI settings were reloaded

hope this helps
