changing user name

Doing what? They are no longer taking new signups, it is being kept alive for those that currently have the service until June 30, 2012

But is there any way to change a "username"? I still don't want my full name displayed with every post I make.

Mobile Me does exist until June 2012. However, even after Mobile Me is completely gone, users will still have their Apple ID's— same as always. Apple should allow users to be able to change their Apple ID username; it's as simple as that. Or should be. Since my divorce & remarriage, my username is completely inaccurate. And irritating.

I also was surprised that I was not offered the chance to create a username and request that my actual name be removed. Please help.

As was stated earlier in this thread, stop using this one and create a new Apple ID for use here with a new alias.

What the, I didn't aware about the login name and now I got stuck with this NULL name?

You would think apple would add a display name that you could change independent of your username. Yes, I messed up with I originally created my account, but forever seems a long time to wait to be able to change my username. Maybe iCloud will allow us to create a new account and merge the two together ..... we can hope.

Holly confused. I have been trying to change my Apple ID and email account, iCloud iTunes, etc. . . . all of them and it is a mess. Is there not an easy way ?

I did the upgrade to iCloud and my user name is DianaPayne, but my email and apple id username is my old divorce name . . . how can I fix it . . change it?

if you have upgraded to iCloud, then your Apple ID cannot be any username. All iCloud users are forced to have an email address as their Apple ID, and I'm betting this is your case too. If you already registered to iCloud with your old email address, you can log in and change it by a new and different email address here:

Your Apple Communities Username is 'DeePayne', which is the thing I am assuming you want to change. I want to change mine, 'xdcdx', as well.

Apple Communities Username is hardcoded to your Apple ID the first time you login to Apple Communities, and I find it very silly that it's non-changeable.

DeePayne— you can't change it. That's what this thread is all about. I think many of us are hoping that Apple will realize this is a valid issue and fix it. But at this point— you cannot change it.

This site does use Apple software, it uses Jive software so Apple can only request a change.

deggie: It's naive to think Apple doesn't have the resources (economical + manpower) to force a change in Jive; or to replace the system completely with a better one, developed in house.

Let's face it, Apple Support Communities is a very low priority to Apple right now. Let's hope that this forums geta very much needed revision soon.
