For me itunes opens up the first time and if I close it, it wont reopen. I have discovered that if you go to task manager and close the itunes application tree, there is one more process defined under apple, and if you close that too you can start itunes again. I guess that will have to do until apple comes out with a fix.

The same issue occurs on 64bit windows 7 with the latest version of itunes. If you look under the taskmanager you should see APSDaemon.exe or apple push. When you close apple itunes please see if that program is still running in your taskmanager and if it is close it and see if the itunes program will then reopen.

Would you mind sharring if you are running any of the following, so that maybe it can be determined if this is unique to apple or if other software contributes to the problem.

are you running? AVG, Microsoft Outlook 2010, or have the mobileme control pannel installed?

Thanks

Hi MBKosho,

APSDaemon.exe is still running in Task Manager when I close iTunes. iTunes will reopen once I have closed APSDaemon.exe. But I have to repeat this process every time I close iTunes !! So it doesn't solve the problem permanently.

I am not running AVG, Microsoft Outlook 2010 or have the mobile control panel installed.

I have tried deinstalling iTunes and reinstalling but this does not solve the problem either.

Thank you for this information. I don't think reinstalling itunes will solve your problem. I had someone tell me today theirs was working but I need them to confirm they are running the latest version of itunes. They are running windows 7 on a 32 bit version that I know for sure. I suppose what you could do for now is right click APSDaemon.exe and open file location and remove the files. This will then allow the program to open and close, all the time but I can understand that is not the fix either of us want.

If you want, You can then either restore the files from the trash or re install itunes they will return. I'll continue to play around with this, and hopefully the fully functional fix will come soon.

sorry.

Hi I have the latest version of iTunes, windows xp and I am experiencing the same problem that if you log into your account on iTunes store you cannot log out and it screws up the closure of iTunes such that when you next try to log in iTunes hangs, appearing to loop and locking all pc resources.

De-install iTunes, delete all libraries and file references to Apple plus iTunes, then re-install iTunes and Quicktime, iTunes opens okay.

Just DO NOT log into your account on iTunes store until someone resolves this problem.
