"There is a problem with your device"

I just plugged my iPad (1) into iTunes to sync and it said there was a new software update available and did I want to install it. I said yes and the update started. After a while, it said there was an error and I needed to restore which I attempted only to have an "There is a problem with your device" message come up. I unplugged it and plugged it in again and the same error message happens every time. I contacted Apple support and they said the "hardware" still has 60 days of warranty left but they want $29 per incident or $79 for ongoing support and an Apple Store is 100 miles away. I would appreciate any help I could get. Thanks.

I know its been a year since this whole issure happened..but i was just gonna sell my iPhone 4....so i thought ill update it and sell it off....and then the message showed up...

I dunno whats happening right now...but its not good...i read the whole post and realized what it might be...and following throught the different solutions mentioned in the post..i tried them all i think...and now the message shown keeps changing...

Right after the restore it says "That there is no SIM card in the phone im triying to activate" so i remove the SIm card and put it on again...after plugging in the phone to my mac it shows the old message again...

This is unbelievable, just got restored my iPhone 4 yesterday to 5.1.1 and all was fine until next day morning when I made a first call, after an hour the phone has rebooted showing information that it needs to be connected to iTunes for activation and then:

"There is a problem with your iPhone."

Whatever I do, different PC, another restore, DFU mode, the result is the same, when I tap the little "i" icon the banner is empty.

Does anyone from Apple even care that this issue is still ongoing??? This is really frustrating.

This is very much so an issue that has NOT been corrected. Apple needs to tell us what it could be, if it's hardware then tell us which component(s) is likely the culprit so that we can purchase it and fix it on our own since Apple clearly has no respect for us AFTER we purchase their products. I'd even accept an Apple 'Genius' to come on here under an assumed name and give us some pointers. The iphone cost us a lot of money and I for one cannot just 'write it off'. If Apple wants us to 'Think Differently' then I might as well go buy a Samsung Galaxy S3. What's keeping me from jumping ship? oh, the fact I cannot afford a second phone since it took me too long to save up for this iPhone 4 :-(
