MAC Mail not saving all sent items

Hi,

I'm using OS X 10.6.7 and using MAC Mail over an IMAP connection.

For some reason this particular MAC Mail is not saving / recording all sent emails. The recipient is receiving them all so they've definitely been sent, but they're not appearing in the sent items / sent folders.

I have tried exactly the same IMAP account on another OS X 10.6.7 mac and ALL emails appear in the sent items.

It seems there is a fault / bug with the MAC Mail. Is there any hotfixes out there or any steps to try to ensure evry sent email is logged / saved in the sent folders?

Thanks

Chris

I don't know if this solution is mentioned yet, 44pages..
But it worked for me:

- In your inbox folder, create a new folder named: Send Messages
- Select the folder "Send Messages"

- Go to Mailbox -> Use this mailbox as -> Send mailbox

- Send a test mail and see if it will appear in the "Send Messages" mailbox!

Hope this will work for you!

"Outlook.com does not support Exchange, it is an Imap system. (POP is also supported)

MS Exchange is the exchange system you refer to, and it does support synchronization."

I am not quite sure what point you are making. Outlook.com email accounts can be set up to use Exchange ActiveSync - I said "Exchange" for short. In fact, when I set up my iPhone and iPad outlook.com account, and used the settings provided by the setup tool, I didn't get any option other than Exchange. The details of the email accounts do not head them as either IMAP or POP, as most/all non Outlook.com accounts do.

Outlook.com supports ActiveSync on IOS and Android only, on a Mac it supports Imap and POP. As you are in the Snow Leopard Forum and not the IOS forum ActiveSync does not apply, and is misleading advice.

Check the specifications at Microsofts website.

But Tigervision, to whom I was responding, specifically stated that his problem was with his iPhone not synching with his Mail app (presumably on his MacBook). So I think that brief mention of Exchange was relevant if he is to determine why he wasn't getting synchronisation across all his devices, particularly as others in this thread have brought it up.

Bratman91.... Thanks. I don't think I was clear.

If I email from a web browser (using my Yahoo account)... then my sent messages are obviously saved in any of the web browser versons when logging in. I can also see my sent messages on my iphone and ipad.

If I email from my iphone or ipad (using my same Yahoo account).... I can see my sent messages on my phone as well as on a web browser version.

So web browswer and iphone/ipad all connected fine.

If I send a message from the Mail App on my new rMBP.... I can't see my sent messages on the web bowser version of Yahoo Mail or on my Iphone/Ipad. I can only see the sent messages on my computer Mail App (as if they are only saved locally on MBP).

Simply stated, I would like to see all sent messages on any web browser and iphone/ipad from when they are sent from the Mail App on MBP.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

In case anybody still has issues, I tried it all and nothing worked until I found this:

http://www.netchimp.co.uk/webdesign/iphone-ipad-macbook-mac/iphone-unable-to-mov e-message-to-trash-imap/

Once you add the INBOX to the IMAP Path Prefix and then make sure all your folders are checked to save to server it worked for me. I tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked until I did this. Just thought I would share in case anybody else hasn't been able to fix it yet. I have iphone 5.

Cheers,

Kent

Apple your mail application seems to be degrading at every release. So far I have intermitent loss of of sent emails, slow operation of mail durng the send function and inabilty to display some messages without long wait times. Whatever the issues are, given the number of threads here along with the ability to reliably recreate this error, suely you can find a fix and do a release to rectify this pronblem.

I am running a MacBook Pro and on upgrade to Lion and Maverick I have had an increasing number of issues arise with my mail. Most recently sent mail is intermittently not being saved to the sent mail folder on my mac or on the server. Whatever is causing this issue there is currently no work around and no single solution here has solved the issue.

Can we please ask for a formal response from Apple on the status of this bug?

In my case the original problem is still there, regardles of whether it is an original, a reply or a forward, and it only happens RANDOMLY and I am using the latest version, 10.9.01. It is not about not knowing what folders to look at (the lost sent emails are not on the IMAP folders either, they have simply disappeared). Once in a while, I will send an email, the recipient will receive it, but it is not in ANY of the Sent folders on the computer or on the server.

This bug needs fixing for two years now. Is it that difficult, Apple?

Additionally, when I try to deactivate the 'store on the server' options and save my settings, when I go back to the settings they are all miraculously reactivated.

This is a BAD bug...

Please stop sending 'fixes' to the point that 'oh your email was saved in another Sent folder you just have to look for it!' And changing the settings, obviously, does not work either, in probably several cases similar to mine.
