Then use the remainingsuggestion from http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090:

"... contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service."

If you do not have access to a local AASP, use the Apple Support option you prefer.

Unless you have a current backup, make one before having your Mac serviced.

HI,

I would try a PRAM reset.

Shut down the computer.

Restart it holding down Apple/CMD ( or ⌘)+ALT( ⌥)+P+R Keys until you have heard three Start Up Bongs.

Hi,

A PRAM reset is universal.

It should get the Start up Bong(s).

You need to hold the keys almost before the Screen lights up to say the computer is starting.

It is also all four keys at the same time.

Hi,

The Sig pic.

I have a graphics pad and "wrote" my signature direct into Photoshop Elements 6.

If Scanning a sig then remove the "background" colour so that it will be transparent.

(Do not forget to to do the holes in letters like P or D and A plus the lower case ones)

Then it was using Effects such as WOW Neon and Drop Shadows to get to the Pic you see.

Layers were Merged and then Saved as a .png

I may have coloured the Sig to start with before doing the WOW Neon to get it that dark.

The Text Block beneath the pic is some HTML coded text that I have in TextExpander.

TextExpander is a System Preferences Add-on that when enabled types longer phrases after you type a shortcut.

To be clear The whole HTML insert.

Apple have blocked the way I was adding the pic (it used to be a straight HTML location thing)

I changed it to what shows here but that has also stopped working. (you have to enter the pic fresh each time)

The "%1I:%M %p %A; %B %e, %Y" bit is used by TextExpander to put in the Date and Time.

This bit "<span style="color: green; font-family: Apple Casual; font-size: 8pt;">" colours the line Green and makes it smaller and uses a different Font (Most Mac users can see the Font - you have to have it to be able to see it)

The next bit <span style="font-size: 8pt; color: gray;"> colours the following text Grey (or Gray)

The <br> are line breaks.

The "&#63743;" is the Unicode for the Apple icon symbol () The & plus # and the trailing ; are important.

Some non Apple Browsers do better using the Unicode items rather than relying on a Font Based icon (Lucida Grande has the Symbol for instance but not everyone has that Font)

HI,

It resets some "Permanent" but Readable RAM info.

Certain settings are stored in this way.

The Master Volume of the computer for Instance.

Various other bits of info set via System Preferences.

Network Settings and Date and Time used to be held this way which need you to reset those in System Preferences but these have been moved out.
