sync music to ipod touch 4g on Linux

I dont have a Windows/Mac machine at home i use Linux (Fedora & Ubuntu). I managed to initialize the IPOD on a friends machine using itunes. I am not able to sync any music to the ipod.

- Banshee sees the IPOD and copies the music, but it doesn't apear on th music player 😟. all the music i copied ended up as other. now i am not able to delete the music as well.

- tried gtkpod as well, but no luck.

- is there a better way to copy stuff to ipod from linux? an app may be (free or paid would do) or i am even ok with jailbreaking.. but none of the links on internet seems to suggest that it is going to fix my problem (seems to work with older versions of IOS though). I am running on ISO 4.3.3.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

Kiran.

PS: i dont plan on buying windows. 🙂
