I have re set the info in the settings and when viewed there the info is correct. When I get into the app store I still get the wrong ID no matter what I do... anyone have any suggestions

With activation lock you need to type in the id and password of the account that it's locked to.

Or, and if you were the original purchaser of the device (i.e. it wasn’t bought used), you could try going to an Apple Store (make a Genius Bar appointment if you do) or try contacting iTunes Support online (https://www.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html) and see if they can remove the device from the account - they are likely to want to see proof of ownership before they might help e.g. original receipt with the serial number on it

The I’d on my apps acount shows is like this

Myaccount. Instead of

myaccount@myisp.com

I am able to login into my iCloud, and in settings, iCloud password. I can log out then log back in. I can logout in the app homepage then log back in. I can log in using my credentials all day long, but when I try to down load app I see the user name minus the@ info. Because I have done it so many times it reply’s that the account is blocked. But yet I can use my credentials everywhere else but here. GO FIGURE

Sorry, should have quoted:"Do you have a question about the Apple ID that you posted on a public forum above? l will ask the hosts to edit it as you are violating someone else's privacy by posting it here." A poor user makes a little mistake and a "Genius" threatens to tattle to Cupertino. But since Apple Inc. abandoned the original forums AppleCare Agents used to be in charge of, it might take longer to have the "noob's" post containing the stray username, than it will AAPL to fix the multiple Apple ID issues that have plagued the system since before MobilMe. former senior AC agent under Jeanne T.

What are you on about now, and who in the world are you posting to? You replied to yourself....

Again, you are going to have to get over the fact that everyone here is a user just like you. We don't work for Apple, we don't answer to Apple (with the exception of following the TOU for the forum, of course), we volunteer our time here.

If someone asked the hosts to edit a post it was a courtesy to protect the privacy of whomever's private information was posted. Get a grip.

Your incoherence is astounding....

Same happens to me and The "experts" give me the same advice that doesn't work. Because they don't like to listen. Until you complain 20 times. It's like a bug or something. I used to be on my moms account until I got my own new phone, new plan, new carrier, new iTunes account. So I really don't know why the f I still receive her messages and she receives mine. It's been beyond embarrassing what texts she has received, vice a versa. My boyfriend will text me and somehow my mom is linked to the text. Privacy problem! Truly I'm done with the iPhone scam of selling a brand and not top quality. Saving for a wayyy nicer phone. Beyond that, the exact same thing happens to me when I attempt to update my apps! I should NOT have to go over and beyond to update an f'n app and to keep my texts private. Bad coding. And it's been like this for about 3 years... haha. So much for updates and de-bugging. Laugh! So, I guess I have to go into a pretentious Apple Store and wait in line with status hungry customers. Talk to a teenager with NO computer science degree. And have to repeat myself 20 times. Yeah, cool, fun.

Because he is texting you in the same message thread that he texted you previously.

He needs to delete the message thread and start a new one

Also make sure he changes your contact info in his address book and removes your old phone # and old email address.

I too had a former user of my Mac, and their name was coming up as default in the App Store (even when I was logged in) but not for every download, only an update of iMovie. I deleted iMovie and then re-downloaded. This seems to be working just fine.

Logging out/in of the App Store or iTunes (per other poster's insistence) did not resolve this issue, but your approach worked for me. Thanks for figuring this out, and thanks for posting.

That's right - they are saved in the account under which they were purchased. It doesn't matter who is signed into iTunes. An iTunes Library can have media purchased by anyone who ever signed into iTunes on that computer and who purchased media.

So, you are going to have to put in the password for the account that owns the app. OR, you can delete the app, and purchase it under your current Apple ID, and then start the game over again.

Cheers,
