delete wrong apple ID from the appstore login

It keeps asking for his password under what circumstances? Password requests are associated with specific actions, so you need to tell us what is happening and when. Also, which ID is signed into the device in the iTunes & App Store, iCloud, FaceTime, and Messages.

I ask for help. Registered a friend ipad in his name, it took 3 years he brought me it said that he had requested and now asks to enter the apple id, but there is mail mail.ru. Can I return the old apple id? He could not change himself, he did not know the password. I go to myself icloud there there are his photos and applications which he downloaded. How to return icloud?

What is the 'first stage', and 'now he sewn' ... ? What exactly are you doing on the iPad ?

All apps are tied to the account that downloaded them, so only that account can download updates to its apps.

A lot of these scenarios have absolutely NOTHING to do with software on users' devices.

Many have issues that are in Apple's Back End.

I had the same issue, turns out it was the Rar Extractor Lite app which was installed under a different apple id. I deleted the app, and reinstalled it under my own profile/apple id and the issue went away. Hope this helps.

I had the same kind of issue eventually figured this out. Go into Settings > General > Restrictions and ensure that iTunes and App store restrictions are turned off i.e. show "Allow changes". Once "allowed" go into the app, sign out and in again and add the correct Apple ID, that should sort it.

I know this is late, but here's the solution for anyone having this problem now.

I couldn't update my previous applications due to the fact that I downloaded them with a different Apple ID before. Now that I changed my Apple ID and want to update them, a pop up box comes requiring the password of the previous Apple ID.

Solution :

Delete the app that you want to update, go to App store and update it again. It won't require a password of the previous ID.

I am having the same issues what do I do with to fix this problem? My phone iTunes and Apple ID all show my id but when I go to the App Store to update any apps or download anything someone else's Apple ID pops up!!

Asked and answered multiple times in this 25 page thread. The Apps you are trying to update are owned by the Apple ID that is asking for a password. You can either supply the password, or delete the app and re-purchase it (or re-download it if it was free) under your own/current Apple ID.

Just delete the app, then go back to the app store and try and redownload the app. Once it comes up in search, it will still say update even though the app is now redownloaded to the phone. Just click the update button and the app will redownload but technically its under the new ID you have in your icloud settings.

I just went through this

It is not the App Store app that is doing that. If you are signed in with your Apple ID under Settings>iTunes & App Store, and you are getting a request to supply a different Apple ID password when trying to update an App, then the app you are trying to update is the one you need to delete.

Apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that they were purchased with, so if you are trying to update an app that was purchased using a different Apple account, then you will have to either get the password for that Apple account, or you will have to delete the app and either repurchase it or re-download it, if it was free, with your own Apple ID signed into the iTunes & App Store.

Why do you need to "change the name" on your Apple ID? Since this thread is about Apple IDs that were previously used to make purchases, changing the ID does not come into play.

Can you explain what your issue is and what it is you are trying to do?

The above does not work on my iphone 5. If I go to setup, I see the correct iTunes/Appstore ID (signed in), but when I go to the App Store, it demands a password for the wrong Apple ID ... nothing I can do about it, no access to app (or music) downloads. This 'left hand not knowing what the right is doing' is extremely frustrating - why do not the devices store a single user ID (at least for the person logged in at the time) so that this can't happen?

What do you mean 'go to setup' ? Do you mean Settings > iTunes & App Store ?

Where in the App Store ? The Updates tab will obviously show the id of the account that downloaded that app. If you mean for downloading new content what id shows at the bottom of the Featured tab in the app ?
