That's putting an optimistic spin on it.
Well, what can I say? I'm an optimistic person.

I'd assume so. I never logout. With the old forums, I never had to login. I never logout. With Firefox 3.0, I had to login ever time I quit the browser. With TenFourFox before the recent changes, I stayed logged in. In the last week, I have to login ever time I quit TenFourFox. It's a pain.
I know it's a pain, but, if it is in fact a security measure, I appreciate it. I encountered the malware the other day - it had re-directed my (tabbed and logged in) Yahoo Mail Inbox to its server 178.xx (Russia?), so I now consciously log in and out of Yahoo to check my mail.

OT, I know, but why don't you set up your Mail program to include your Yahoo mail account?
Well, where I come from, we take our concerns for privacy extremely seriously, i.e. even a telemarketing call is considered an invasion into your privacy and therefore not allowed/punishable with a rather hefty fine, so my approach at protecting my privacy may seem somewhat over the top here.... and I don't sign up on any social networking sites (or anywhere where they want personal information) for exactly the same reasons; and, with all the "hacking" going on, I also would not trust web based (cloud) backup services. My health insurance company "lost" several server disks earlier this year containing personal info of thousands of their members (mine included) and I am currently under a "possible ID theft" watch. Nothing really is safe online. As for the mail -
I set up several web based accounts for various purposes; the one purpose they have in common is that I do not want them to have or know my "real" email address - and that includes Yahoo itself. So, I want no settings that could/would enable anyone at Yahoo or who hacks into their system to find a reference to my real address. As I said, that may be considered over the top, but I feel more comfortable with it and don't mind the extra time it takes me to check the mail. It's mostly non-essential stuff anyway - if it wasn't, they'd be using my real address! And, FWIW, as far as Yahoo is concerned, I'm a 95 year old male đ (as far as I can remember.....)
I'm a 95 year old male
Well, I have to say, I would have never guessed, LOL!
To each his (or her) own . . .

I get logged out randomly, but every couple of minutes running Lion last night. đ
I thought they fixed this. I do get logged out after a period of inactivity, but it must be long enough to not be that bothersome; it hasn't been as bad as it was when I first posted. Don't know what it might have to do with Lion. Coincidental? Or maybe they see your User Agent and want to cut down on the overwhelming number of Lion posts?
It doesn't seem to be working, but two minutes should keep the number of Lion posts down đ
I finally just wrote a script to periodically refresh a page, which does work if I remember to run it (and keep the system from sleeping), but it is still a pain.
For Firefox:
"Reloads web pages every so many seconds or minutes. The function is accessible via the context menu (menu you get when you right click on a web page) or via tab context menu (just in Firefox 4.0)"

"Tab Mix Plus enhances Firefox's tab browsing capabilities. It includes such features as duplicating tabs, controlling tab focus, tab clicking options, undo closed tabs and windows, plus much more. It also includes a full-featured session manager."
