Endless spinning wheel on shut down

If I boot up and do not initiate any software and then shut down, shut down occurs normally. If I initiate any software, I get a blue screen and the endless spinning wheel. I tried the repair disk and repair permissions from the startup disk, to no avail. This is something that began just recently, possibly with upgrading to 10.6.7 but I'm not sure. Safe boot makes no difference either. I am running on a 2.8 GHz, i7, quad core.

Thanks,

Jacob

formatted the drive 17 times, reinstalled 18, replaced drive, and the extra memory i had added NINE times. ALWAYS Apple makes excuses. Replaced the Snow lepoard installer cd 6 times, I am sick of wasting time and money. As said, this works 100% perfectly on ANY OTHER of our more than 200 machines.

A reason to NOT use Lion, well maybe that snow lepoard WORKS, on ALL our machines, while many are older, yet viable units, they dont support Lion. LION is a JOKE so far, errors abound, you never see an end to the complaints about it, every one i know ( many thousands) who have tried to use it for business have found they had to return to 10.6.8 ... maybe that's why

As of this date, i have instructed our staff to begin a complete examination of what wil be needed to move before the end of Q2 2013 to a pc platform strategy, replacing all our code investment, retiring completely all Apple products. I cant' rely on Apple. Ihave a business hovering on systems that can't reliably reboot. I won't risk my business on Apple any longer.

I was brought up in San Diego, was a military liason to HP and at one time, Xerox, in the early PARC days. I know i was introduced to "the Steve", but he was not well known yet. I met Woz a few years later at a trade show in Vegas, but then my USAF duties took me to Europe, where i have lived, worked and called home since 1991. Married a former Soviet pilot, and we founded the airline. Seems it is more and more difficult the more successful the airline gets. Sucess has always made life less pleasant. But i will manage, i have a GREAT staff. I just wish Apple valued their customers more. and their IOS outlook LESS. But thanks Rolf. IF i get ANY solution, i'll surley share... i cant accpet this is NOT "fixable", but have little choice right now

go to safe mode - apply SMC , PRAM - remove the unwanted app you have downloaded from app store or google to trash as 3 rd party apps are not compatible with mac.

spinning beach ball will go & the last step is to destroy old user a/c & create a new user account but before creating the new user a/c in safe mode : apply SMC . PRAM , remove caches contents from system library , caches , cookies contents from - user library .

it will go but unwanted app must be removed - sure for it .
