Unable to download app on my iPad 2 today

I just tried downloading a free app from the App Store on my Ipad 2 today and it prompted me for my password which I entered. It then showed the app on the home screen as "waiting..." and it promptly vanished. I tried again (was prompted for my password again) and got the same results. I noticed I had two pending updates (though they show as "free" instead of "update") so I did an Update All. Again I was prompted for my password, which I entered and it switched the to Home screen with the two apps showing as "Waiting..." and then suddenly they reverted back to the way they were. Nothing is downloading on my iPad 2 at all. It is taking my password, but it's not activating or something.

I tried on my iPhone 3GS and it worked without any issue.

I know there was some store problems last night, but I updated an app this morning on my iPad 2 without an issue. I'm also noticing that I can't turn on genius recommendations for apps. It just keeps asking me for my password over and over agian.

Anyone else having issues currently?

iPad 2, Other OS, iOS 4.3.2

Here's how it will be solve. Open your iTunes or iTunes U. There might be some pending downloads there. Cancell those downloads or erase it and presto! You can now download and update you apps and no "waiting" on status bar anymore.

I have the same problem as well. Apps cannot be downloaded straight from the App Store into my iPad. Although I just found out that in my iTunes(iPad) I have some depending Podcast that were not downloaded into my iTunes\Podcast.But I cannot see these depending downloads in iTunes ion my pc. I wanted to remove these downloads but unable to. The question now is how do I remove these depending downloads? Should I do a restore or what?

This Works!!!

I think the cause in my case was that the App was still running in the background when I tried to upgrade and I got this error " Unable to Download at this Time". After the initial attempt to download I could not close the App in the background. There must have been a lock etc since the app was running and I had tried to upgrade it.

By downloading the app onto my PC with Itunes and then syncing the apps to my IPad I managed to resolve this.

Happy now but **** frustrating.
