Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
My iMac won't go to sleep. If I leave it on, it only ever puts the display to sleep after the designated time, but the HDD never goes off.
If I select Sleep from the Apple menu in the top left, the display goes off, then the HDD powers down. Then after a second or two, it all comes back to life.
Any help appreciated.

Might be best to post a new topic over in the Lion section of the forums, because not everyone here has upgraded there iMac to Lion.
After a couple days of turning programs on/off one-by-one I've found what's causing my non-sleep issue...Mail Version 5.0 (1244.2/1244.3). If I leave Mail open the hard disks never go to sleep, if I close Mail than it goes into auto-sleep every time. As I said, in Snow Leopard I left Mail (and Safari for that matter) open and auto-sleep worked just fine. For some reason now in Lion it won't sleep for me when Mail is up.
Closing Mail makes no difference at all to my problem. Still won't sleep.
At the moment my iMac will sleep during the day but not at night. The only thing different at night is that the iPhone is plugged in to charge up so I'll leave that out for a few nights and see how it goes.
