Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

My iTunes account has been emptied by "Kingdom Conquest" when i don't even have the game.

This appears to have happened to many people, what is being done about it?

I just tipped off Engadget. I also had over $100 in unauthorized charges this weekend. I reset my password, disassociated Paypal from my account, and emailed Apple to get a refund. I just don't understand why Apple has not done anything about this issue which has been happening for the past 9 months. This KingdomConquest crap is clearly stealing from Apple's customers and Apple is doing nothing about it.

I just had 2 purchases $3.25 and $40 something charged to my paypal. I opened disputes with paypal, read some stuff about this scam, changed my paypal to a credit card (I had read it wasn't touching credit cards, only paypal and iTunes cards)...only to realize that there was another $37 purchase that was waiting for me to change my billing info. So now I have to check with my credit card in a couple of days and dispute THAT one, too. Oh, and I also had $5ish in iTunes that got spent, too. What a hassle. I just removed all payment options from iTunes and if it happens again I am immeadiately deleting iTunes and closing my account. Poor Steve Jobs isn't dead for 6 months before Apple starts destroying itself.

Just happened to me got me for $75.00. After a hour finally found the area to complain on apple said they willl refund me but i still opened a dispute with paypal after reading people's history. Apple is acting like nothing is happening.I disasscoiated my paypal and changed my password which is not a weak password. Apple is no longer going to be my go to place for movies and music.

I’ve just been a victim of this – iTunes account credit cleared via a transaction for Kingdom Conquest on a “…device that had not previously been associated…”. I was alerted by an email and by the time I got into my account my payment info had already been set to None, which suggests to me that Apple know there is a problem and now react quickly.

Has anyone had an explanation from Apple? I don’t buy that my password has been “guessed” – I’m aware that there are programmes that can hack accounts through trying multiple combinations of letters and numbers, but I would not expect this to be possible for iTunes purchases. I couldn’t find a phone number to discuss possible fraud with anyone at Apple but have emailed them and await their response.

We woke up this morning to find that my wife's account had been charged over $40.00 for in-app purchases for Kingdom Conquest. I logged into my own account and saw a message that it had been accessed by a device not previously associated with it. I immediately deleted my credit card info from iTunes, and I don't plan on ever re-entering it. In the future, if I do buy anything from iTunes I'll get a gift card or pre-paid Visa.

Contacting Apple and getting help was a nightmare. Why don't they have a phone number for customers to report fraud? Your only choices are email or to try and make an appointment to chat. Apple eventually agreed to refund the money within 4-5 days. Funny how they deduct it immediately but can't refund it immediately as well.

Apple needs to get on the ball and improve security, as well as provide users with a phone number to report account fraud, especially since this appears to be a prevalent problem. Just do a Google search for Kingdom Conquest fraud, or search these forums https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2665383?answerId=17887810022#17887810022&tstart=0#17887810
