Apple Support Communities permalinks fail when logged in (work only whilst signed out)

Example

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3101975?answerId=15351904022#15351904022 should present a reply by Elizabeth Vetter on the third page of a discussion.

Bug: the link presents the opening post at the top of first page.

Only if I sign out does the permalink present the required post.

My current preference is flat discussion, threaded comments.

I searched for other discussions of problems with permalinks, found none … am I alone?

Interesting. It's taking me to an Elizabeth Vetter post when I click on it, Graham:

(Top of page 3.) That's in Safari 5.0.5 on an XP SP3 system.

Other folks are also reporting similar issues with links to posts within threads, although the bulk of the discussions that I'm aware of have been taking place in the Lounge (rather than out in the public communities). So you're not alone in this.

In addition to the permalink in the opening post that fails to present the required message, the following permalinks also fail:

My sense at the moment is that permalinks fail for every recent topic to which I contribute.

Very, very annoying when I'm trying to provide support for Lion, 10.7 following a period of pre-release testing.

Refining the bug

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1916253?answerId=15405542022#15405542022 does work. In the same topic I'm at https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1916253?answerId=10429780022#10429780022 (2009) which also works, so the bug does not bite every topic to which I have contributed.

Please

What can I do to help expedite a fix?

Also bugged: topics that I bookmark without making a contribution.

Example: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3183754?answerId=15651675022#15651675022 should present page two with a message from Csound1, the twenty-first response to the opening post. Instead: the service presents the opening post on page one.

This bug is a great barrier to productivity. If someone with knowhow can help to progress the bug, I will be most grateful!

If I prefer threaded discussion,

If threaded is a partial workaround, it is not ideal. I rarely prefer threaded.

Side note

The narrowness of threaded (more generally, the narrow non-elastic design of Apple Support Communities at this time) makes it unnecessary difficult to work with plain text, as is used when pasting code.

Whatever's wrong here (maybe a combination of bugs) is very seriously affecting my ability to provide support.

I can't change the subject of this topic but recently I realise that …

For the the vast majority of clicks, the service sends me to the wrong page.

Extremely noticeable when using a page such as https://discussions.apple.com/profile/Graham%20Perrin?view=discussions which should, in theory, help me to see posts that have been added to topics where I contributed.

For any topic that has more than a few replies, I'm given the wrong page. Totally disorienting, information overload, I have to begin each topic from scratch to figure out (without help from the service) what's new, what's not.

I'm begging — please — can someone take a closer look at this?
