I think that is simply a translation issue, ab. The OP may not be a native English speaker. The syntax suggests an anglicisation of German or similar which I read as "can I run?" rather than "am I running?".
hi all,
I have a black MacBook as well, it's a 2.17 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo but only has the 1GB and when I tired to install Lion I got the message that it needs at least 2GB to install.
Thus I'd like to know whether it'd be possible to install Lion when I upgrade my memory, i.e. get a 2.0 GB memory card?
Yes you busy have at least 2 gb of memory which the earlier black MacBooks do not have. They are user upgradable, which means you can do it yourself or if you go into an apple store they can clarify how it's done.
For RAM check OWC http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/memory/MacBook/DDR2/
Here's instructions on replacing RAM http://homeoffice.consumerelectronicsnet.com/articles/viewarticle.jsp?id=44404
it works!!!!!!!!!
thank you for all your help 🙂
hi Marie-Anne, how much RAM do you have now? with that amount of RAM, how's the Lion running, is it slow or what?
I also have macbook black 2007 2.1 with 3gigs RAM, and I'm planning to install Lion as well.
thanks!
Hi Community
I purchased a used black Macbook 2008. I want to give my two cents regarding how to get your Macbook updgraded to version 10.7. In the black apple my version is 10.5.8. I got advice from this community on how to get the latest version. I call the Apple Support number 800-692-7753. Spoke with a very intelligent representative and she helped me get upgraded. I have to purchase Snow Leopard or version 10.6 and version 10.7 or Mountain Lion. They were both $19 each. Snow Leopard will come in the mail within the next two days and version 7 or Mountain will send a code that has to be redeemed in the Apple store. I really lucked out with this Macbook! I paid less than $300 and it comes with 4 gigs. I'm so excited about my upgrade. Once I'm upgraded I can use the iCloud to connect to my 2011 iMac..THANKS!
