Safari Google search suggestions not working after Security Update 2011-003

I know this is an older post, but i just started having this problem this week. any ideas?

everything is up to date as far as i can tell. thanks for any help!

This has now hapened to me 3 days ago - since I did the latest software update - but not sure if that is relevant or coincidence.

Have tried everyones previous suggestions - no luck.

Does it just sort itself out in the end????

Same here: 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.5.

Annoyingly though, it only happens in one of my two user profiles. The other one works fine.

I've tried rebooting and that doesn't work, also then tried removing the /Users/<profile name>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist file and that didn't work either. Just created a bunch of work to set things back up how I wanted them.

What I don't understand is why it works in one profile and not the other. Pain in the ***.

Just tried deleting the following files as well, without any improvement:

/Users/<profile name>/Library/Safari/History.plist

/Users/<profile name>/Library/Safari/LastSession.plist

/Users/<profile name>/Library/Safari/TopSites.plist

Running out of ideas now. Still bugs me it works in one user profile but not the other.
