Itunes Error 7 (Windows error 14001)

User uploaded file

I've been getting this error for about three weeks now. It just happened out of the blue at the same time that a bunch of other programs started giving side-by-side configuration errors (like Word and Photoshop). I've searched for solutions to this on this forum and on other websites, but none have produced a good result.

When I tried to reinstall or repair the set up of Itunes or Apple Mobile Device, it gives me an error that says I do not have enough privelges to install it and asks for me to retry, ignore, or abort.

If it also helps, Apple Mobile Device does not start in Services. It gives me the following error -

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

edit: I've tried to do a completely clean install multiple times and it still produces these same messages.

Hi Jenn_marie, I tried all of the above over and over again, and none of it worked, so i had to get a tech in to sort it out.

The problem is windows based, not apple, and is has something to do with the windows updates.

I was running vista, so we fully removed the whole operating system, and upgraded to windows 7.

Reinstalled everything including itunes and have had no problems since.

Hope this helps, and i know it sounds drastic, but i tried over and over again with all of the above, so i bit the bullet and go the experts in.

@ Ardbug. I have to agree with you. It's definately windows based issue. I was with Dell for 5-1/2 hours trying to fix this problem! They finally figured it out and was a "patch" problem with the new itunes update.. Meanwhile I already downloaded the most updated patch but whatever and didn't work but thank god Dell was able to fix it. Yes it was a pain in the butt to deal with it but I have to say it's finally fixed. I have to say, I cannot say thanks for Apple for any of this help since they were not helpful at all. They should warn customers who aren't on mac's that they do not support anything else. Yes Itunes is there software but when a problem occurs they do not want to help out one bit. It's a shame. But with all of that said. HORRAY! it's fixed.

Thanks!! 🙂
