Depending on what 'programs' you are trying to run (and any apps in the iTunes App Store, which are the only 'programs' that can be installed on the iPad, won't need flash), then if they are flash videos on websites you might find that some of the sites (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

Apple does not allow Adobe flash on IOS.

You can try other tablet producers if Flash is a big deal.

The iswifter app does flash on the iPad

Technically speaking, no, it doesn't. iSwifter and kindred apps actually stream content from a server somewhere that does run Flash and converts the output to a format the iOS device can play. Flash isn't actually running on the iOS device. Sort of the same effect, but brings limitations: it requires an Internet connection - Flash content cannot be downloaded to the iPad and played - and all such apps/services are less than perfect in their conversion and performance.

Until Apple becomes reasonable or until we all buy differend devices. I really wish that I have spent less money and got a better device from someone else. Every time I need to open a flash video I have to go back to my PC. Viva PC.

Demand for the iPad remains very high - all the competing devices combined don't come close to iPad sales, so sell your iPad and use the proceeds to purchase a device that provides what you want in this regard.

Reasonable is not depending on a 3rd party alone for providing internet video via a closed/proprietary format.

You are right the marketing is great. Choking supply is part of this strategy and it seems to be working where getting an iPad becomes a status statement. This does not resolve the issues of functionality or the lack of it.

And what if iswifter isnt available !! Its not available on itunes or you request cant be completed in app store .. Thats what i see when i try to download it , maybe the country is important ?!! Who knows .. But hope that apple can make a deal with flashplayer soon ....

Not all apps are available in all countries due to licensing etc. In terms of flashplayer making it onto the iPad, then I don't think that it will ever happen (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/). But gradually more and more videos on the web are moving to to HTML5 or a combination of flash/HTML5

What I don't get that we buy and make Apple billions of dollars every quarter. So why can't they just give the buyers what they want. Apple pulls the same **** that Microsoft has been doing for years.

Personally, I'd be happier if I could watch Flash videos on my iPad but Apple's decision makes economic sense. They've found that sales go up whenever they do something like this!
