Hello -
I want to update my groups in Address book but the "remove from group" option in my menu is not highlighted. Any ideas on how to make it highlighted and therefore usable?
If it helps, I am using Mac OS X version 10.6.7 and version 5.0.3 for Address book.

Select the contact, press the DELETE key.
For clarification - Go within that group a regular group setup not a smart group, select the person's name and press the delete key on your keyboard and three selections will come up: Cancel, Delete, or Remove from Group.

As of 2016 (at least for Yosemite), none of this is applicable for me in the Contacts application.
Deleting a card is the only option for me. Here are some screen shots:
Heck, I can't even drag and drop it OUT of a group.
Just documenting this here so something magical might happen in the future.
This might be due to the fact that is an ingestion from "Exchange" > which, I could bet, is strategically inept for the Mac. That might be a problem here ...
