Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
When I try to update the Apple Tv, I recieve a message saying that the device cannot download the most recent update and that I should try again later. I have also had issues signing in to Netflix, but those issues seem to be unrelated.

Lucky, I am still unable, same error.
I have the same problem. nothing works.
In iTunes I don't even have the update button, just the restore.
When I click restore i only get the error message that need to check my network settings. wierd.
When I try to do it via ATV i get the message that I should try later.
Pretty sloppy by Apple to let this happen. It's been like this for a couple of days now...

I got my new Apple TV 2 days ago 🙂, and i am still unable to update it.
It says that an update is available but i have to try to download it later.
I am sure that the same problem will never happen for iphone's users 😠 ( I'am one of them 😉 )
I am still waiting for the update process to work ....😕
Has anyone called Apple about this? I bought my ATV2 in January but only just connected it. So I'm out of phone support time and stuck with version 4.0 software which is featureless. I'm hoping a support call might at least get the problem noticed.
Same problem for me too. I bought it yesterday. It has 4.1.1 on it. Trying to update it to the latest firmware and it keeps saying can not download try later. Very frustrating.
Everything else seems to work - connects to Netflix, connects to my iTunes library, Photo sharing etc.
Same problem for me as well, I tried downloading 4.1.2 and 4.2.2 from 9to5mac with no results.
I really wanted to use plex on my iPhone with my new apple tv. Where are you Apple on this one? Seems to have been a problem for at least a couple days now, lets get this fixed!!!
It will now go through the update process, but says that the download is corrupt. Is anybody else having this problem?

It is downloading the update... says 8min to complete the download. Goes up to 7mins and then abruptly stops and gives the message that update was not successful. Tried a couple times.
Looks like Apple guys are fixing something on their end. Will wait for another day or so and try again.
Apple should have a bulletin board where they should publish such issues so that users don't get frustrated with their products.
This has been happening to me since this morning.

Still no dice for me. Don't know if it matters but I am on the East Coast.
Same for me as Johnck78.. downloads till almost the end but does not apply the update.... argh...
Even the download link direct from Apple is still crippled when I check it.
