I am unable to update my apple tv gen2

When I try to update the Apple Tv, I recieve a message saying that the device cannot download the most recent update and that I should try again later. I have also had issues signing in to Netflix, but those issues seem to be unrelated.

Just purchased my apple tv today from best but having the same issues. When it couldn't configure the date and time in the beginning i should've know something was wrong. Originally would'nt allow me to log into itunes but after i shared my acct on my pc, it allowed me to log in. But still can't update software or access itunes.

The reason you might not be able to connect to iTunes is because of the fact that you can't do a software update at all and are probably on a much older firmware version. I'm able to access iTunes but I'm assuming that I'm on a newer firmware than you since you JUST purchased the apple tv. Hopefully they get the update server fixed tomorrow... ::fingers crossed::

Looks like someone forgot to upload (or accidentally deleted) the firmware .ipsw file from Akamai's caches. Pretty poor mistake in itself, but not noticing and leaving it broken for +1 day is incredible, weekend or no weekend!
