Go into Setting > Notifications > Game Center and under Alert Style choose None. This should stop the showing up when you open an app using Game Center.
Try running this command in Terminal:
sudo rm -rf /Applications/Game\ Center.app
How is he going to run terminal on an iPad?
Oh ***. I didn't see him mention iPad anywhere. (I came here from a problem on Game Center for OS X and I guess I assumed.)
They didn't mention it because they are in the Using iPad forum.
Kind of hard to pay attention to dark 12 px. text in an dark gradient area.
Me too. I hate the pop ups and never want to use game center. There's no way to get a message to apple support on this issue
Write Jonny Ives directly... he is in charge of this stuff now. Who knows, he might be looking for a way to assert his new role publicly and respond.

Then don't.
I never see it and never use it.

I'm with you. I have researched the forums for ways to delete or suppress game center. I have set restrictions, turned it off in notifications, dismissed it on its pop-ups, etc., all to no avail. Every time you sign in to the app store it resets and starts hounding you again. The only solution I have found is to delete all games which are game center enabled, a disservice to both the user and the game developers, but there is no other solution I know of.
You can use the above links to let Apple know how you feel about them removing your ability to opt out, and can also contact the game developers and let them know how you feel.
I know I've stopped playing my angry birds seasons and i won't buy any more of their games because of it. Some games do respect you disabling game center, but some don't. And since they're accessing my Apple ID and password, the only way to protect that seems to be to avoid game center games.
Since you can't delete Game Center, try rebooting, turning off the Game Center notification and then synching. When I updated the OS on my Iphone4, Game Center reset and even though I turned off notifications in Settings, the annoying popups kept coming. However, they stopped after synching my phone in Itunes. I don't know if this fix will last but so far so good.
I feel the same way. If i could i would delete it.
I already wrote to http://www.apple.com/feedback/ saying what I feel. And if more poeple write maybe they will get the message.
I wouldn't get my hopes up about being able to delete it. Game Center is a built in way to market games and to encourage you to play more games. ANd since Apple gets a cut of everything sold in the App Store, including games, I really can't see them allowing a person to remove a method to market future sales.
Removal is unlikely in my opinion, maybe getting them to restore a person's ability to opt out might be more likely. Pre iOS6 a person could disable Game Center in the settings. Perhaps if enough people ask for it that ability might be restored.
